if the dolphins win out and the bengals lose 1, we are in...

Knowing the Dolphins . . . . The Bengals would lose 3 of 4 to finish 9-7, the Ravens would lose 2 of 4 to finish 8-8, The Steelers would lose 2 of 4 to finish 8-8, no other team would be higher than 8-8 and we'd end up going 7-9. Just how this team has been the last few years. I like playoff scenarios as much as anybody, but the one common theme in all of them is Miami controlling their fate. In 2008 a 5-0 finish earned us the playoffs . . . 3 of the last 4 years, a losing record down the stretch has cost us the playoffs.

It's all on the Dolphins.

Agreed. Also, if you don't control your own destiny for even the final wildcard spot then its not much to get excited about.

Ravens game we lost could bite us. Fins need to win Sunday and they are headed to the playoffs.

Don't underestimate the Ravens winning against the Pats...the past few season they've had the Pats number and they are playing in Baltimore. We need to keep winning and hope the Bengals slip up.

ahh i didnt know that was a monday nighter for the ravens at detroit...that should help...home teams are tough usually in those primetime spots...still got to beat pittsburgh or its not gonna matter...if we split the final 2 i think we are done

I was just trying to remember the last time this franchise "Took care of business"

Chad Pennington & the Fist Pumper? It seems like a lifetime ago...

oh man i didn't know the ravens had 2 prime time games still...new england also and it's possible the finale at cinci could be flexed as well to there...maybe 2 and 2 does get it done

Correct. Last game of the 2008 season - almost 5 years ago. :( And before that, whatever game in 2001 clinched the play-off spot.

Detroit's a better team at home than on the road. I think they have a very good shot to beat Baltimore. If Detroit and the Patriots can both knock off the Ravens, we have a great shot to get in if we can win this week.

I thought so...Without being a Debbie Downer to this post I am very level headed with expectations and have learned its hard to be too disappointed when you don't expect too much.

On another note...I am high on the Blue Devils rocking the college football universe against FSU this weekend.
Cold weather...slight mist (Ice?) + Jamison legal hangover? = THE SHOCKER?

Isn't just like the Dolphins to lose a tie breaker to 1 team and it's the 1 team that stands in the way. Ah being a Dolphins fan....

The funny thing about these scenarios is that I don't trust the Dolphins to take care of their own business. For as long as I can remember we lose games we should win and win games that we should lose.

No matter who is behind center, no matter who the coaching staff is, we seem to always beat ourselves.

Not that I wouldn't love to see them run the table, and even if we made the playoffs (Which is my barometer for a successful season with this current team) I think we'll get beat up in the playoffs.

Wtf are you guys talking about? We need cincy to keep winning! They are leading their division, therefore not a competitor for a wc spot! If cincy lost to sd then sd would be tied with us.

How does it take 13 posts for someone to point out that OP is retarded? Cincy has nothing to do with the Fins getting in right now. Really?

If they lose it to Baltimore and Baltimore wins out, that is not true. OP needs to change the thread title because he has no clue what he is talking about.

While that is possible, I don't know how you can come to that conclusion seeing as we have beaten 2 AFC playoff teams ( Colts and Bengals). I am not saying we will win, but I would be more inclined to see a close loss if anything in the wildcard round.
