If we go 9-7 or 10-6 but dont make playoffs

The Dolphins beat the Packers in Green Bay last season. The Packers won the Super Bowl.

The Dolphins lost to the Steelers by one point because of a blown call by the refs. The Steelers lost in the Super Bowl.

The Dolphins shut down the Jets in New York and kept them from scoring a touchdown. The Jets lost in the AFC Championship game.

The Dolphins roster, as of this moment is stronger than the one that took the field last regular season. They had the top six defense last year, and they replaced possibly the biggest weakness in Crowder with Burnett. Odrick, Edds and Will Allen are back from injuries. McDaniel was re-signed, so it appears our defense will be better and likely one of the top 4 or 5 in the league. We do return the same starting quarterback(at the moment) but with how bad he is supposed to be still had a 7-8 record. Running game struggled last season, insert the dynamic Reggie Bush and a new young power back in Daniel Thomas. The offense lacked speed, insert Bush and Gates. The offense had poor playcalling, so long Henning, hello Daboll. The offense is still not great, but it has the pieces to improve on its 21st ranking from last year. Are we an elite team? No, but we have shown with less talent that we can beat the elite teams in hostile environments.

I think, no I EXPECT, this team to win at least 9 games this season. The pieces are there.

Although Nubs is the eternal Dolphins homer, these are facts.

honestly heres a list of coaches i want to see gone:

hEAD COACH: TONY
WR COACH: STEVE BUSH
QB COACH: KARL DORELL
OFFENSIVE CO: BRIAN DABOLL
assitant WR: IKE HILLAIRD
rb coach: jeff nixon
special teams: darren rizzi
assitant offensive: tony sporan Jr.

Basically all these no name coaches who play a conservative offense, im sorry but none of these guys are proven and we need to start getting coaches with a win now mentality, this is a business.

i say 8-8 not bad, better then last year and people that didn't want orton can parade and we can get a qb in the draft so we can waste more years to develop him... gj ireland and sparano wheres the vet in our team that would be pushing henne oo nvm its moore -__- sorry for being negative but it's the truth. I see henne doing bad in the preseason and maybe moore will be the starter or even devlin wouldn't surprise me but yea i hope im wrong i don't want to see another wasted season but if thats the way we going in that direction then i dont see us competing in the AFC east.

What do you want to happen? would u still want the FO to get the boot?

If we go 10-6 that means henne had some success, which means we might not pick a QB in the first round,

what are your thoughts?

We will stick pick one. Hopefully Landry Jones. Andrew Luck is the best but no way we get him.

If Chad Henne makes any strides at all this season, this could be a very dangerous football team. Bag on this front office all you want, Ireland and Sparano have put together a nice solid team, it wasn't too long ago so I know you all remember the roster we had when they got here. The Dolphins are going to make some noise this year as long as Chad continues to develop, even if its babysteps.

I see the wins in the 8-10 range really only depending on Daboll, even with henne's bad performances last year we won 7 games with a harder schedule

I know people are frustrated with the QB situation, but you guys are on crack if you think Miami is going to have a losing season this year.

We need to do what we can to stockpile draft picks this year so we can make an Eli Manning type trade for Andrew Luck. I dont care if we have to trade Marshall and Wake to do it, Andrew Luck is the next Peyton Manning nd whoever gets him is going to be in the playoffs for 8 of the next 12 years.

Come on guys. We couldn't run the ball worth a crap last season. Not to mention our Offensive Coordinator was on life support. We still won 7 games and lost 3 games by 3 points or less. We're not as bad off as everyone makes us out to be. If we can get the running game on track, we're an 8-9 win team, and if Henne can at least develop into a game manager QB, it's not unlikely to think we could win 10. This defense is elite and has only gotten better. The offense has some question marks still, the biggest being Henne, but we're still a 7-8 win team even if the offense is as bad as last year.

GB was missing half their team.

Buffalo took Pitt to OT

Shut down? We came off a 45-3 game 6 days earlier, we were in shock still. That game was awful football on both sides.

You also:

Lost to Cle, Det and Buffalo

They did NOT have a top 6 defense last year, they were 14th in points allowed

Dynamic Reggie Bush? Is he at SC again?

Can you win 9 games? Absolutely but to expect that is asking a lot in this division and this conference.

Sorry but I have us winning 3 games this year. 3-13

Says the guy with a link to a cut Ted Ginn petition in his sig.....

I agree with Nublar... I still think the play calling last season was horrendous and a big reason why the offense struggled.... Let's see what Daboll brings to the table and how Henne responds to more aggressive playcalling.

Last season he looked almost afraid to make a mistake... if we're going to go down in flames, I want to go down with Henne playing like Brett Favre slinging it all over the place.... The end result will be the same regardless

I'm as critical as the next guy about this team, but to say they'll only win 3-5 games just sounds a little "special" to me.

I love arguing with you junc when I'm around.... but if you want to cherry pick stats then lets play that game...

Your Jets also were shut out by the Packers who according to you were missing half their team... Not very impressive

Your Jets split with Pittsburgh who as you stated Buffalo took to OT... Again not very impressive

Regardless of what you say your Jets did lose to Miami only scoring 6 points in the process.... if you want to use the NE game as an excuse then maybe that's a comment on Rex and the coaching staff..... we lost to Cleveland the previous week but we able to re focus and beat a solid team in the Jets

I agree though that I think this team can win 9 games this season but it will be tough given the division and conference.... but with that said I don't think Plaxico is an upgrade to Braylon, most of all with respect to making Defenses scheme towards defending the deep ball, so IMO the offense takes a small step back this year while the defense remains equal to what is was last season post Jenkins ACL..... so do I think the Jets can win 12-13 games this year..... sure I do... but I could also see them needing to win 2 out of those last 3 against the Eagles, Giants, and Fins to get to 10-11 depending on how NE and Miami play them early on.... The Baltimore, NE, Miami, SD stretch is not a gimme month by any means....
