Our "luck" is that we will draft him and then he won't want to play for us ala Eli Manning ... but we won't get a Rivers type QB in return.

although i would put him not wanting to play for us at an extremely low chance, if that did occur, we still can hold on to him. we would not be forced to trade him.

eventually he would give in and play. i doubt, especially the kind of kid he is that he would just not play for us.

what can he be expecting, to be drafted 1st overall by a 14-2 team?

"If we traded the #1 pick, what would you be happy with??"

... the cold taste of steel from a shotgun barrel in our new GM's mouth.

thats a start, but that wouldn't be enough.

if the incoming gm was given the opportunity to take luck, and either passed on him or traded the pick, he should be put on trial like a serial killer.

then again, with our justice system, that prob means being set free and being found not guilty.

Aaron Rodgers.

Nothing else. Luck is a once-in-a-lifetime QB.

If Luck truly is a "once in a lifetime " why trade him for Rodgers ?? Surely if Rodgers for Luck is a fair trade then Lucks a twice in a lifetime QB ???

No comment. The thought of landing the 1st overall pick and trading it away is too hard to bear...

Sorry can't vote there was no option for non of the above.

Only if he refused to play for us and we were given a pick where we could still get Barkley or Jones and an *** load of other picks.

If you need to rebuild at team, that's a good start.

Or better yet, just build the team around Luck.

That's a much better start.

I take Luck at 1st overall, Then draft his Stanford teammate O-lineman DeCastro who's a fine guard with my 2nd round pick.

Then invest in TE's that have some speed with my 3rd and 4th round pick (another stupid blunder was Miami not drafting Jimmy Graham but instead took Edds... lol). A great tight end is a young quarterback's best friend. And I'm sorry, but Fasano won't cut it. I will give Luck everything he needs to be great so I get him that seam-busting tight end target over the middle in year #1... the Falcons brought over Tony Gonzalez for Matt Ryan early in his career for his development and it's the right (and smart) thing to do.

Remember that if we pick 1st overall, we have the 1st pick in EVERY round. So those are high picks all around. I also find the best damn Right-Tackle money can buy in free agency next year.

I place my whole draft on building the offense around Luck and his talents for a west-coast style offense. Forget about defense, the defense can wait. It's all about giving Luck all the weapons he needs to succeed early in his career. And I set the entire draft for offensive players, similar to what we did in the last draft... I do it again if we get Luck and build around him right from the get-go

That's how I'd go about it.

What would it take for me to let a team trade for Luck? Their 1st rd pick...........for the next 30 YEARS!

If Miami passes on Luck by trading out of the first pick, the only thing I'd be happy with is rooting for another team.
