If you guys know me, you know I'm an LSU Tiger. Lemme tell you about Jarvis.

Don't get me wrong, I like the pick. Landry is simply a good football player and I like the McDuffie comparisons. But, I might have stayed at #57 and taken Carlos Hyde. This offense lacks that physicality in the running game and I would love combining Hyde with the revamped offensive line.

Listen. Forget the 4.77. He ran way better at his pro day. But even that means nothing.

This guy was once mentioned as a first rounder, and there's a reason why. How many times have we heard our fans bitch about our receivers not get separation? We'll guess what. He gets separation. Not sometimes. CONSISTENTLY.

When Zach was looking for a go-to guy for a first down or a red zone catch, Jarvis was his guy. Not Odell.

You all may think this is a homer post. In actuality, it's more about shock that a guy with this skill and production dropped. And it's all because of the official 40 time.

We just drafted a hybrid of Anquan Boldin and OJ McDuffie.
Being a Gator and SEC fan, I have watched this guy through out his college career and I totally agree!

Really happy with this pick. Good routes, fights for yards, and plays with a chip on his shoulder. While I agree we need a endzone threat size-wise, Landry has an eye for the endzone. I'll take that any day. If Tannehill and Wallace can get their **** together, Landry will become even more dangerous.

He reminds me of Chris Chambers a lot. Chambers was faster but would make those freakish acrobatic catches that Landry makes. A bit of a shorter Cris Carter as well. I love guys who know how to run routes and set the DB up for failure and this guy does that. Couldn't be happier with the pick. Can't wait to see how this group of WR's shakes out after camp.

I enjoy and appreciate SEC football except for a certain coach in AL (hint: not Malzahn) & team in FL. Now, that you mention it, JL was Mettenberger's go to guy.

I really like the pick.

Landry, Wallace, Hartline, & Gibson will make for an interesting 4 WR set. The thought of Moreno & Sims w/ the revamped OL keeping RT17 upright bring a smile to my face.

Dont forget about Clay , he was Tannehills go to guy last year.

Landry will be playing this year and will be productive. Gibson is coming off serious injury and Hartline was injured at end of the year when we needed him. Love the pick.

OK separation at the college level with a 4.5. As a fan can you give me examples of NFL quality DB's he was burning? That's what would help.

Where is our redzone guy? I still don't see one on this roster.

Armon Binns is on the roster

Good catch. Landry is a great RZ threat. He excels in tight spaces, knows how to use his body, and has huge (great) hands. His threat as a blocker also gives him an advantage in this situation.

I was happier than Michael Jackson at a Chuckie cheese party when we drafted Landry

As a fellow LSU Tiger fan, I love this pick, I think Matthews is in trouble and Hartline will be gone next yr. Now if we can pick up JC Copeland in FA that would be awesome. So ready to see Brandon Harris take the job away from Jennings.

A lot of great players went in the second round. It would have been great to acquire an additional pick in that round and pick two players at need. No reason we couldn't have picked up both Hyde and Landry at that point. Or Landry and and TE. Or one skill position and one lineman. Look at what Licht did in Tampa, nothing wrong with getting weapons that move the ball and cross 1st down markers and into end zones.

But I gotta tell you, I love Landry and was blown away. He's the best receiver on this team right now in terms of physicality, scheme fit, and fit with Tannehill's style of play. He made the day worthwhile.

:)

As far as the physicality and the run game and all that, it's still a concern. We're all giddy on draft day every year but when we sober up we'll be going back to watching a team with zero physicality and who can't run the ball. 49er's got their Frank Gore in Hyde. I would have loved that on our team. I think the combination of quick strike passing and banging away with a big RB would have been ideal. The choice was made though, and they made it yesterday. We didn't know what Lazor wanted to do, with all that talk of run-focused and all that. We still don't really know what he prefers because I believe this is Philbin's Offense, 100 percent, and Lazor is trying to implement it. But the fact that they went all out for a pass-blocking RT, and made WR the priority in the second round instead of a mauling guard or a running back, tells me that this will continue to be a pass-first team. That's what we are. We're doubling down on finesse. It could be wildly successful, or crash and burn. We'll see.

BTW Wallace tweeted that he loved the Landry pick. We'll be loving it for a long time, because he's a perfect fit and brings that physicality we desperately need.
