I live in So.Cal and have enjoyed watching USC do their thing (though I'm a Canes fan) Matt Leinart is a very good-looking QB, but I believe that has more to do with the talent around him. For my money, give me Vince Young. He has better tools and is very poised in the pocket. I think he shines this year with Cedric gone. I guess this is my official "draft Vince Young" endorsement.

Too bad the Canes' kicker sucked tonight. I like what I saw in Wright.

vince young? the guy that rarely throws and just runs all day long?

that wasn't the case Saturday...stood in the pocket like a champ.

please vince young i wish this running back stuff as a qb would end it doesnt work never has and never will v.young is like m.vick run first pass second i highly doubt saban will look for a qb with a run run run mentality.

yeah, i like him..

Suspect delivery and mercurial performance do not give me great confidence in young at this point, if he can add consistency to his game i think he can be really good

I like him too, I like to WATCH Jacobs too...

....but neither are going to be worth a damnin the NFL as passers.

who was texas playing again this game? haha... lets see his stats when a defense with some speed forces him to stay in the pocket... as of his career right now hes not much of a passer, but we'll see how he progresses...

and yeah Wrights got some ZIP on his balls, hes got a little cannon, but hes still real inexperienced, i think he'll end up being a good one though once he gets comfortable... what a first game for both of these QBs, against the hated rivals first game of the season, gotta be very nerveracking

Your bragging about Vince putting up a whopping 173 yds against a nobody???

I think Wright's got a fantastic future ahead of him, and he looked good when he threw. His problem?? His offensive line was horrendous. Eric Winston is suppose to be the #1 or #2 tackle coming out next year?? He got owned continously last night. He keeps that up and he'll be eternally depressed about that knee injury that screwed his career as a top 5 pick.

Another one to add to the list of Young/Jacobs is Reggie McNeal. Great athlete, not as good a passer as people want to make of him.

Just goes to show your team's popularity makes you a name. Gradkowski, Pinegar, Brohm, Hackney....can all chuck the rock better than these QBs constantly being talked about (Jacobs, Young, Vick, McNeal, Shockley).

Then obviously you've never WATCHED Jacobs, all the guy is as a passer. You also down Mcneil and Shockely, did you see these guys, they were lights out this past weekend. You seem to be one of those guys thats assuming a black quarterback is only good for running the ball regardless of having seen them play.

These stats arn't exactly mind blowing against LAL, but I won't discount Young just yet. The real test for him comes this week against OSU, this is make or break for Texas's national championship run, and OSU has one hell of a defense with speed and playmakers all over the board. If he passes well on these guys he is legit in my book.

I've watched him, and I've read your constant homer replies defending him. Gino Torreta, Heath Shuler, Andre Ware, Danny Wuerfell, David Klingler, Kliff Kingsbury, Jason White, Timmy Chang...and the list goes on...were nothing but "passers" too, but they sucked and never made it at the next level. They all had better mechanics too!!! My lord, Jacobs had to look over at the sideline half the time to get the audible from the coaches after reading the defense.
