I'm Done With This Regime. For Serious.

yeah right dude, if we had signed barber u'd have criticized that too. A new regime will come in and u'll love all their moves to start then hate them when we arent instant super bowl contenders too. If we were in the afc west we'd be a consistant playoff team - but we are in the afc east and we have a rough schedule every year. we were 1-15 a few years ago. granted some of this regimes decisions make me scratch my head but hell, so do alot of other teams decisions and some of them are perenial contenders. Be happy we can match up with virtually every team every week. If you want to go back to the 70s and 80s and be a fairweather front runner than go root for the pats. otherwise deal with it like the other 25+ teams that are not constantly in super bowl conversations. its so easy to pick apart any team whether win or lose, but after a loss its open season around here. get over it.

This regime has had FOUR YEARS to make this team a contender. FOUR. Not one or two. Im not giving up on them after we arent "instant super bowl contenders". If you are happy with floundering around at 7-9 and such for years, thats cool. But sorry if me wanting to actually see a good team rubs you the wrong way.

Why do you always whine about what other people's opinions are, then offer nothing in return?

Seriously, it's always "SoFla fans are teh suck!!!" with a bunch of exclamation points, or you call people frontrunners/fairweather fans that dare have a different opinion of you. Or, something similar about anything else.

Why not be constructive and offer something else than name-calling?

Last time I checked both of those teams lost too.

What type of logic is this? If a team lost, theres no way a player from one of those teams can help us? What?

They could have almost certainly had McKinnie. He signed in Baltimore for peanuts. We could have offered more. Plus he played college ball at the U. We didnt even try to sign him. We made no acquisitions all offseason on the line, really. Except Pouncey and garbage *** Columbo who doesnt even count. We couldnt sign anyone better than Incognito and Columbo? Get real.

Thats what I'm speculating...perhaps top tier guys don't want to play for Sparano. I have no evidence of this but if a top tier guy like Mckinney had a choice between the ravens and fins, and wanted to be on a winning team, then he would most likely opt for the ravens. It's his choice, and preference. He could have not entertained the idea of playing for Miami at all.

"Oh i'm a great player, I wanna go play for a sucky team for money yay." Get real.

I just love how they can't see a gaping wound on our team until other teams ruthlessly exploit it.

Did they really need until week 1 of the regular season to figure out that Benny Sapp wasn't cutting it? How many games last year did we blow because Sparano couldn't figure out that Bobby Carpenter was hot garbage? Dan Henning isn't a problem its the players lack of speed...while other teams are calling out plays at the line of scrimage.

The Patriots have figured out when to get rid of players in a timely fashion. The Eagles have made an art of selling off players just before they fall apart. Yet Miami can't see anything wrong until its repeatedly slapped them in the face.
Either pride is getting in the way or these people are truly this unbelievably inept.

Oh, and waiting for the final part of this dance. You know, the fans point out something that is glaringly obvious, the front office ignores it, another team walks up and punches us in the face, our front office kneejerks, original fans say "DUH" while new group of fans show up and accuses everyone of being "armchair GM's" and how we aren't really fans, and the cycle repeats itself. Im certain the usual suspects will jump in shortly.

edit: whoops, looks like i waited to long to post this, final act seems to be warming up.

The problem is we have all watched and criticized decisions the FO has made for years and we have all been proven right. Its not about signing Barber. Funny how the Jets decisions have been working out for them and we keep watching our FO make decisions that nearly everybody on here questions. Doesnt take a genious to realize this FO doesnt have a clue. How many seasons do we have to watch them constantly try and make our Oline good when the HC's specialty is Oline. Kinda makes you start to wonder how competant the decisions makers are. We will not win with the combination of the people in charge they have given no reason to believe otherwise.

Nubs you can't really be holding on to making the playoffs?. I hope I am wrong, but at this point that is a pipe dream IMO.
Yes, this team has the talent to make the playoffs. Will they? We will have to wait and see. A pipe dream after one week of play? That is ridiculous. They defense was bad last night, but they were a top 6 defense last season so you have to think they will be better during the rest of the season. Henne also shredded the Pats defense, so that is encouraging.

This regime is 100% reactive. NEVER proactive.

And BTW, for those that want to say im a hater, Id hate any move, ect, ect....tell me how many times I listed Chad Henne or anybody else that actually, you know, did their job? Credit where credit is due, Henne played his *** off and looks much improved. Im as big of a Henne critic as anyone on this board and I can look objectively and admit that. I was probably wrong there. Dont say i just hate to hate. I clearly listed WHY I had an issue with this regime. Good reasons too.

this team isnt that bad. but thats not the point. the point is. if we cant beat the pats at home. we cant beat them on the road either. so that means with one of the toughest schedules in the nfl again. in a tough afc again. the dolphins need to go 9-5 in the rest of their games just to finish 9-7 and have an outside, outside shot at the playoffs. they need to go 10-4 just to have a pretty good chance of making them. and if u remember a couple years ago new england went 11-5 and missed the playoffs. this team isnt going 10-4 against this schedule and with their depth. so the fact this front office didnt put together the best 53 they possibly could have for week one....not week 16.....week one against new england. is enough to warrant their firing already. it was clear to everyone here that will allen was our 3rd best corner. if they had concerns about him why wasnt somebody else signed? or that 2nd rounder we used on thomas used on a db? and another veteran brought in to run the ball earlier?
It's impossible to predict how many games we will/can win. There are just so many variables that go into every game that it's really just foolish to say "there's no way we go 10-4 in the rest of our games." I don't think we beat the Patriots in foxborough either, but that's why you play the games.

1 Loss is enough to warrant their firing? Really? :bobdole: People complain that Ross has made us a national punch line, yet you want to fire them after 1 loss to a team that, quite frankly, is in the top 3 in the league?

I'm not telling anyone to bow down to Sparano and Ireland and everyone else on the team... I'm simply saying give them a chance. I'm by no means a huge supporter of Sparano or Ireland, but I'm willing to give them more than a game... It's impossible to draw conclusions about how good or bad this team will be this year after 1 game. If we look the same as we did last night at the bye week, then we may be looking at a clean house scenario. But there is a lot of football to be played between now and then and a lot of you are just down on the team after a tough loss. I think this Sunday against Houston will help to ease the negativity and sky is falling attitude around here. We're not going to be as bad as this board thinks.

Funny everyone thought the defense was "upgraded"

Quess not ...... That's my only complant.

The offense looked GREAT . Just more work on the goal line and short yardage.

Henne was outstanding passing and running the ball . Receiver's looked great.

As far as the D. They looked dazed and confused.

Nolan better get busy because there lots to be done with Houston on the way.

Hell we could have opened like Pittsburg or Atlanta. We were right in it till the fade pass and Walker play.

Entertaining game. Now go beat Houston.

In your case, isn't that something akin to declaring "I'm done with virginity.... again" ??

Yea . Every year i go through spells of seething hatred and optimism. Im on the seething hatred cycle now.
