I'm Done With This Regime. For Serious.

The Dolphins are the LA Dodgers of the NFL.

A proud and storied franchise, done in by personnel blunders for the better part of awhile.

I was actually impressed with how the offense played....minus the couple of obvious plays. We were worried about Henne's play during Week 1 and guess what? He played very well. Our defense will eventually get it together, that was Tom Brady and the Patriots...not Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Bills. Any other year the past couple of years, we would have lost by 21+. The offense really kept us in the game for the most part. I'm tired of hearing people freak out about how we are terrible because we lost to the Pats by 14. Let's have this discussion again in a few weeks, when we see what we have.

I do agree with the fact, they should have signed more depth. Don't get me wrong on that aspect, but I am still very excited for the season.

I agree with just about everything you said. I don't know if our cornerback depth was so much a problem as them just being out of shape. I was completely disgusted by how everyone on our defense was gasping for air. It really showed who worked out on their own this offseason and who didn't. But what's more, I want to burn that stupid air conditioned practice bubble to the ground. Running wind sprints in an AC bubble will not get you in shape to play in the Florida heat. And Sparano wonders why his team can't win at home. Yea, there may be an unusually high number of visiting team fans there week in and week out. But the dolphins were simply out of shape. Just disgusting. It's going to be a long season simply because that can't be fixed in a week or two. Just awful.

And I also completely agree with the comment on the O-line. I hated picking up Incognito last year cause he's a lazy, dumb player. He may have a nasty streak that Sparano likes, but what happened to zero tolerance for negative plays, i.e. holding calls? He cost us a lot against the Pats. And don't even get me started on Colombo. I don't care about familiarity. Tape don't lie. He was nearly the worst tackle in the league last year in Dallas. And he was consistently beat against the Patriots too.

I know it was just one game, but it looks like we're in for another long year.

The most troubling thing is the last 2 years have shown when the wheels start coming off Sparano can't fix it and the season unravels.

1) The O-line wasn't the problem last nite. It looked better then it has for almost 2 years now. It showed signs of improvement.

It wasnt the biggest problem, but certainly was a problem. Henne was smacked repeatedly and we got no push in the running game after the first drive.

2) This is a more aggressive spread offense. The specialty never was to look for a RB to grind down the middle. Reason we looked more into a Bush type RB then Bradshaw. Same reason we are looking at a guy like Brian Westbrook. The offesnsive style doesn't warrant a RB that grinds it up the middle. Though, I do understand your point this is needed.

If you dont have someone who can pick up a 3rd & 1 and feel no need to get one, your system is garbage.

3) CB depth isn't and hasn't really been a problem. Our FS has been a problem. But i don't recall on our 6th ranked defense CB depth being a hot topic on these boards. But yes, the team messed up by letting Allen go.

Isnt a problem? Did you watch the game Monday night? Vontae went down and the wrath of every greek God rained down upon us. It wasnt discussed much, although i do remember hooshoops bringing it up. Clearly the staff should have know what they had though.

4) I agree on Jones. But that was a 50/50 street. They started the guy who had the potential to be more of a playmaker. You expect these growing pains. Every young DB makes this. But it's not like we had Polamalu on this team. WE HAD Clemons who many wanted to replace. I would not have been satisfied if Clemons was the starter. So Jones played, stunk up the joint and now we will probably go back to Clemons. But, once again, these are expected growing pains. To call out Jones is also unfair. None of the defense looked prepared. Most of them were out of place. So to single out Jones is not reasonable when the whole defense was a joke. I doubt Clemons would have made the difference.

I agree that Jones didnt cost us the game...the defense did as a whole. On on further review by those brave enough to rewatch the game it doesnt appear Jones was as horrible as I thought he was. We'll see what happens next week.

5) Conditioning to my knowledge has never been an issue. So to use that and say it signifies and has been a problem for the last 4 years is just not accurate.

I didnt mean this had been an ongoing problem, but to be it shows once again that the staff is incompetent and had our players ill-prepared. Some of this is ongoing stuff, some of it just observations about the regime.

6_ Kicking game I agree. Has stunk for years. But they went with the speedster Gates, who last I check is who many on this board wanted. They didn't want Bess returning kicks. So they played the speedster. After 1 game it's hard to critiscize this guy. Give him a chance. But to me, getting Bush and Gates is trying to upgrade that aspect of the team.

I have yet to see any reason to believe Gates is a great returner. Being fast doesnt automatically make you that.

So out of your 6 points, only 1 or 2 really have validity to the issues we have had over the last 4 seasons.

The O-line seems to be better and wasn't the problem last nite. You may not like the guys we got over the options out there, but the line did look better.

This regime tried to upgrade the return game, it's not fair after 1 game to judge it. They tried to address it and upgrade, whether it works out or not is a different story.

So, I see these being issues on the team, but they don't reflect the last 4 years as being the same. As a matter of fact, half of your issues seem to be a 1 game phenomenon.

I would seriously like to see a post from you stating conditioning and CB depth, not safety, but CB depth was an issue prior to this last offseason. If you can show that then I will stand corrected and conced my whole post LOL

Does it matter if everything hasnt been an issue for 4 years? the fact is its a glaring problem now and this regime has NEVER been proactive about a problem. They always react to a problem after it has already become painfully obvious to everyone. Dont they practice with these guys? They should know Carroll is hot garbage. They need a 4 year grace period to figure that out?

My thoughts in bold.

On board with that too. Those terms get overplayed too much around here, just blanket statements really.

To call someone a homer or hater seldom really encompasses their true opinions. Like, if you were to say Im a hater based on my posts in here, what about the posts where I praise Henne after this game and supported Daboll from way back when we hired him?

You do realize there are effective linguistic and notative "work-arounds" to substitute for those, eh? :)

But a year or so ago I suggested we reprogram to automatically convert the word "jets" to "jest." Wild Bill liked the idea, looked into it and found it to be untenable back then. I'm wondering if anything might have changed with this latest server transition. Ya think? :idk:

I don't care if being a realist labels me a hater! If praise is warranted I give it. Not my problem this regime warrants more criticism the praise!

u hit in on the head again tyler with all ur points. but yes rashad jones was terrible in the back end, and his blown assignments contirbuted to at least 200 yards in plays, including the first play that vontae got beat, and the welker 99 yard td.

This says it all.

Watching the Dolphins is like looking at a train wreck. You want to look away but you just can't.....as a Dolphin fan, first we cry and then we laugh. Then we begin talking to and answering ourselves and need to be locked away.

Is this your resignation and last thread? If so then goodbye good riddance...tired of whining fans after one game...I mean cmon "I'm done with this regime. For serious." listen to yourself... Are you serious? The regime don't care.

Why are they begging fans to buy tickets and go to home games then?

Well damn. If I would have know the regime didnt care about my thoughts, I wouldnt have wrote that. Thanks. Since I already went through the trouble though, would you mind explaining why I am wrong?

I guess you're right Monday night was awesome and I couldn't be happier with the coaching staff and the FO. Everything is coming up roses in Miami.
