Im glad SF took Alex Smith..

Maybe it's true, but I don't trust anything out of Lloyd's mouth. He called out Barlow and his team, and isn't a very good player himself.

He's lucky he's playing #1 (sort of... they don't really have a #1)... any other team he'd be a #2 at best. Lloyd needs to worry more about catching the football and less about who's throwing it.

I feel the same way, this guy has done nothing in the league. he reminds me of mitchell from philly...

I love Brown, but Smith was my first choice. IMO he will be incredibly successful. I also think that if SF had passed we would have drafted Smith.

BTW Smith's arm isn't as strong as Rattay's, but it is easily strong eough. Arm strength alone is one of the worst ways to predict a QB's success.

I couldn't have said it better. ;)

I do not believe that Saban was bluffing. Who else besides me heard the reporter who was standing outside the SF draft room say that Miami had contacted SF about trading up to take Smith?

i remember when players from the steelers were PISSED when rothlisberger had to come in for an injured maddox last year... most vets will have no confidence in a rookie QB when he first comes out and might say some things... it was practice balls and it was prob for like a half hour, i doubt they could accurately assess his arm from that...

not that im doubting its weak, but give the kid a chance...

I think Lloyd is a great receiver, they also have Rashaun Woods, I think they are in decent shape at the WR spot, not the best, but decent.

In the end those vets were right, rothlisberger played like a rookie at the worst time, when it counted, the team carried him as far as they could, but against playoff teams they needed a little from him and he couldn't deliver..

your wrong, the draft went the way it did BECAUSE Smith was taken by SF, if the 49ers took rodgers the Draft would have been blown wide open and we would have had our trade down....

I think all the trade talks for Smith were a bluff.. Imo, TB wanted Brown, not Smith.. Thats why they were trying to make a trade with us and not SF. Noone took Rodgers, Smith wasnt THAT much above Rodgers, so I doubt they take Smith either.. Smith couldve slid all the way to GB imo..
