Im here to defend Tannehill

Brady won a Super Bowl and every big game he played.

Tannehill led an offense that put up 7 points in 8 quarters against the bills and jets with the playoffs on the line.

Comparing him to Brady is freaken ridiculous. Not as ridiculous as blaming him solely for the Bills lose when no one showed up and he was running for his life the whole game.

Ok Dude. But it's no act. We suck. We lost the last 2 games. OUR team is a Joke. Im pissed man. This helps. I have to blame someone. I would not be here if I did not care.
Cant stand the mediocrity anymore. Worse yet, defending mediocrity, just like the same people defended Chad Henne blindly, are doing the same with Tannehill now. He does not get a pass from me. The last 2 weeks he was outplayed by Thad Lewis and Geno Smith. Agree?

We suck and you expect tannehill to bail us out?Dont single him out.

Tannehill is responsible for alot of problems this year. The 3 ints yesterday are in excusable. Sliding short of the first down marker won't get it done. There are a number of problems that are just glaring that are not on ryan. Our oline is swiss cheese has been all year. How is Tanny supposed to survey the field and make a read when hes got defenders in his face on a 3 step drop. A freaking 3 step drop that means our crappy linemen couldn't hold a block for 3 seconds. Hell our rbs cant find a hole to run through with this sorry excuse for an oline, and you expect a qb to find a pocket and deliver the ball.
Tannehill does not play defense. Our defense folds up like a lawn chair. Some of this is a talent issue but some of it is the defense being gassed because our offense goes three and out on a consistant basis and they spend 3 quarters of the game on the field. Patterson is made of tissue and cant stay on the field. I wanted nolan carrol cut 2 years ago, and we cant even stop the run anymore.
We waisted a 5th round pick on a glorified soccer player from Gainesville. 2 more picks on cbs that can't even contribute on special teams. Don't forget the third rounder on dallas thomas who can't even get on the field when we are down 3 players.
Speaking of special teams. Why is it that everytime this season we got a decent return and Thigpen put up some yards we got a penalty? If Thigpen crossed the 20 somebody had to hold, block in the back, or offsides. It never failed decent field position lost because of undisplined special teams play.
Sorry but i think Tannehill may be the least of our problems right now

Can we stop with the retarded posts? Most of the Tannehill bashers are comparing him to a mythical QB that wins every big game. Never misses a deep throw. Never makes a mistake. blah, blah , blah... F'n nonsense.
Brady didn't make the playoffs his second season as a starter and played so poorly against Miami in a critical game that he got BENCHED. He's a great QB and Ryan Tannehill ain't in his class and might not ever be, but let's talk about the REAL Tom Brady and not a myth.

yeah how can you compare a 10 year body of work to a 2 year body of work. Bradys had an extra decade of big games to play in. Tannehill is in his second year.

The killer here was how good he was vs Pittsburgh and New England I think that makes the sting worse. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the biggest Tannehill haters on here were starting to waffle after those games. You out duel Big Ben in a weather game in Pittsburgh in a game the Steelers had to have then beat Brady and Belechick in a game they needed (even at home) those are big, big wins. I don't think there was a Dolphins fan on the planet that thought we'd blow games against Buffalo and NY after we stepped up in the previous 2 weeks. Then not only do we lose but an absolutely anemic offense was the biggest cause for the losses. The Bills beat the piss out of our O-line, Tanny never really had a chance so I was able to overlook that performance, right or wrong. However vs the Jets the pass pro wasn't that bad and the running game was serviceable, the QB sucked. I know there are many, mant plays in a football game that could have changed the outcome but that bad throw to a wide open Wallace stands out big time with me. IF Tanny routinely made those throws I'd be less upset but he seems to either underthrow or miss the majority of them. Bottom line I was sold on Tanny 3 weeks ago, even drinking the Hooshoops koolaid, but now it feels very similar to last offseason. Basically, like the last 14 years, I'm not sure we have our guy yet. He absolutely deserves another year unless a better option falls on our lap (highly unlikely) just hope he gets to work with a new OC and QB coach.

Ya I see progression. Not much on the awareness side, I don't think having "IT" is something that develops either... But just bc I don't think he has "IT" doesn't mean he shouldn't be back next year. Dan Marino isn't walking through that door. There are only a handful of franchise QBs, why cut the cord on a guy who can be above average unless the next Luck falls into your lap??

Sorry guys, what the heck is wrong with me? Where are you guys seeing this progression? Don't give me TD passes, we threw over 230 times more than last year and threw way more in the redzone this year than last year. What disturb me the most about T'hill this year is his pre snap decision making. Before the snap, calling out wrong blitzers. Couldn't get through disguised schemes before snap making him horrible vs the Blitz, pre determining where to go with the ball before snap. They hope you guys hold out for on this guy is unreal. It's virtually impossible for him to become what you all hope. To have hope for a QB as your franchise setter he needs to be atleat 80% there, just minor tweaks, or game experience is all and he becomes really good. Tannehill's problems are enormous. He can't overcome all that to be the QB you all hope. No one can!! His problems are, accuracy, deep throws, pocket awareness, pre determining the right calls before snap, doesn't improvise, reading defense's, complex schemes, going through progression, understanding where the pressure is coming from, buying time in the pocket and on and on and on. Guys wake up. He has way too many weakness to overcome in a 2-4 year window. What the hell am I missing here for all of you to think that Tannehill was good this year or that you saw progress?

Dude, that is crap. We had a easy path to the Playoffs after we beat New England. Wait let me get this straight, your a Dolphin fan, but wanted to miss the Playoffs? You are rooting for the
perfect team dude.

Cool dude.

How many QBs would you list, that would've played well behind this OLine? Please, enlighten me...

Hate our staff all you want, bashing Tanne is stupid. He's our QB of the future, the best one we've had since Marino, and he will continue to get better.

All of your posts just make people on here angry. Most are meaningless and sometimes, classless. This post, however, is different. You are right that he sucked the last 2 games, the 2 games that had the most meaning. Thad Lewis and Geno Smith outplayed our awful defense though, not our QB. I wanted to like Henne, because this team has not had a QB since Marino (unless you count Pennington, but he wasn't here long enough), but the difference between Henne and Tannehill is the obvious improvements. Tannehill has shown improvement and the ability to learn. He has a higher ceiling than Henne ever did. You have every right to be angry, we all are. You want to blame somebody, blame the coaches, blame the defense, hell, blame Tannehill, because he did suck the last 2 games, but look at the games he won and the development that he showed during those games. He deserves a 3rd year and I honestly think he could be the future of this team, but I will be the first one to admit if I am wrong. Our only other option right now would be to draft another QB early, give up the picks we need to help our OLine, and start again. There are no stud QBs in this draft that I see, so let's fill our holes with FA and the draft and give Tannehill one more shot with more help.

Brady won a Super Bowl and every big game he played.

Tannehill led an offense that put up 7 points in 8 quarters against the bills and jets with the playoffs on the line.

Seriously. Brady sat on the bench his first season and got to learn behind Bledsoe. He had EXPERIENCED coaches to teach him. Tannehill didn't even have 2 full college years at the QB position and started game 1 of his career. He has a QB coach with no experience. If you are seriously comparing these 2 QBs, you have issues. Yes, he sucked these last 2 games, but so did the rest of the team. Give him the tools and experience that Brady had and the result would be different.

I wont pretend I am a scout like that other clown. Ive been trashing Tannehill for awareness, toughness, etc...But the deep ball issue--- If you watch games around the league many deep completions are on post patterns, seams to slot receivers etc. Ex: AJ Green long td yesterday, and Roddy White's (seam ourt of slot) Those are much easier throws than go routes down the sideline, which is the only way the Fins utilize Wallace. yes, it would be nice if Wallace caught the ball at its highest point for some long completions. But the throws are generally off to him, but we need to find more ways to get him down the field besides a go route to the outside.. That said no way can we be sure Tannehill is our guy. I will never get over sliding short of that first down, what a bitch move

You also have to take in consideration that Wallace never just fly's down the field he always stutter steps and then goes after he sets up the CB.

So it is never a consistent pattern. Therefore its very hard to hit the WR.
Something to consider.

tann willm be great just give him time he needs a line who can really judge him with this line

Be honest with me Dick, make the playoffs, get beat in the wild card and KEEP Sherman and Ireland, or miss it and get rid of some of the problems with the team.

Missed the Playoffs dude, notice other teams are making changes today. Ireland is one of the biggest problems, he is a Joke league wide, as are we. Yet still here. Sherman probably cost us 2 games this year. The only hope I have for Tannehill and the Dolphins is a new coach. Someone like John Gruden, who can make Tannehill better. But will settle for more mediocrity with Philbin, and when we don't make the playoffs next year, maybe he is gone...

He had time all day yesterday. Barely touched dude. The O-Line was fun yesterday. 3 interceptions all in the 2nd half is on him, a Line is not the sole answer, and yes we can judge him. Don't be naive dude. How about the Slide a yard short of the first down yesterday? The Overthrow to Wallace, that would have been a Touch Down. My judgement is he is a average QB right now. Ok, not elite. I question his heart and passion after losing in consecutive weeks to Thad Lewis and Geno Smith. Geno had more Pride yesterday - he wanted to Win.
