i'm sick of the media putting the dolphins at the bottom

Please tell me how we only win 5 or 6 games. There is no way we are as bad personell wise as last year. And we are definitely better coached this year. At worst we are a 500 team. You guys put way to much emphasis on the preseason. If gus doesn't throw a bunch of int for touchdowns were 8 and 8. I don't think were as bad as a bunch of you guys think. Our defense is going to be alot better than you think also. wait and ye shall see.......

The problem is that we havent proven it yet. We showed nothing in the preseason to make reporters believe that we will be better than 5 or 6 wins. Until we do show something, they will continue to rag on us....and rightfully so.

I don't post on these forums very often, however, not a day goes by without reading the news and various threads. With all the recent speculation by various writers as to how well the Dolphins will do, I've come to the possible conclusion I'm out of my mind. From 30th to 31st, I never thought I'd live to see the day my beloved Dolphins would be thought so low of. We are all under the assumption the defense is equal or better to years prior, and the offense has to be somewhat upgraded with a healthy D-Bo and the emergence of welker. Granted, we lost Ears(no complaints), Surtain, Knight, and Freeman, I still don't see how this team is terrible enough to merit a 30th ranking. This was a team that a year and a half ago was another Super Bowl condender. I understand the team has a new coaching staff and a new offensive coordinator to impliment new plays and such, but I still don't understand the lack of love for the Fins. Are we really that bad?

The media's job is to sell itself so it will always appeal to big markets and generally over-cover winning franchises in big cities and ignore every other team. Be grateful that you're in a big city. Denver gets very little coverage and most of it is negative.

I remember that ESPN was doing an exclusive special on Dolphins' training camp this year, too. They throw you guys a bone now and again.

I think the main reason for the low rankings is our QB and O-line woes...Until we prove them wrong we will be on the low end...Maybe it can motivate the troops even more than they already are.

sorry, but the secondary isn't very good either... and now we've just mentioned half the starters...

The media are the biggest bandwagoners. All we have to do is win and suprise and they will be on our jocks and kissing our *****.

All we have to do is lose and they will down us until the previous happens again.

short answer... no, the fins arnt THAT bad.

but your Defense is NOT equal or better than prior years. you overestimate your secondary. you will have good run defense, but HORRIBLE pass defense. match that with a below average QB and a O-Line full of holes, its a problem. IMO, 6-10 is most likly, 7-9 at the very best.

:yell: We are ranked in the toilet because last year we were in the toilet. Hopefully this year will show some promise for the future. I think we'll still finish in the bottom 10 of the NFL, but what the hell? We've got a lot of issues to address and a lot of work to do to restore this team to glory. So **** the media! They can dump on us all they want for now. We're going to make progress this year and the next and end up back in the top of the NFL as an elite team once again before too long.

Here's how we only win 5 or 6 games.

* We don't have a quarterback. Thus, our receivers will not get the ball enough to put up a lot of points.

* There is a difference between an offensive line being better versus being good. Right now, our offensive line is better. Next year, it could be good.

* I don't see any of our defensive tackles as able to absorb double-teams like Timbo, Gardener, or Chester did. I think power running teams will do damage between the tackles.

* Our secondary is going to be a problem all year. I am alarmed about the play of our safeties, and I don't trust Reggie Howard.

All of these problems are fixable with time and draft picks.

And those are the exact reasons we should be in the bottom 5 in the NFL rankings all year long. Special emphasis on QB.
