There are 2 examples of this clearly hurting the team & one near miss. get to coaching in a minute.
1. Ditching Tedd Ginn. We all saw his problems over the course of the 2 years he was here, but it was clear the obvious abilities he had. there was no reason to jettison him & KR/PR is still killing this team.
2. Cutting Polite w/o clear replacement. We all saw his struggles last year & somewhat in pre-season. But again he had a specific necessary skill that w/o leads to fiasco's down near the GL like last night. Solia as a lead blocker? That was embarrassing. With Polite we score that TD. No doubt in my mind. He should be called back now.
Near miss..
1. Henne. Due to impulse they nearly tossed him overboard even though it was super clear to most that Henning was a disastrous OC & clouded any real judgment you could make on Henne.

Bad coaching is a real issue. Going to the wrong player in key situations. Leaving some possible contributors on the sidelines. making the same mistake over & over. Not making adjustments. It needs correcting immediately.

Cant really say I agree with the post except for the last item.

Ditching Ginn was the right move. He is only an average kick returner. His Bi annual retrurns for TD's only pad his stats. Remember, he was almost cut by the 49'ers this year and the only reason he wasnt was because he accepted a paycut. Ginn is typically a non-factor.

Polite was money on short down distances, but his blocking the past two years made him a huge liability. He quickly went from being a solid blocker to one of the worst on the team.

I will admit I wanted Henne gone, as my feelings were warranted. But if he continues to play well, I will be happy with him.

You hit the nail right on the head with regard to bad coaching. Year in an year out Tony proves he is not a motivator (although some on this board will argue he is) and never has the team ready to play. He cant make decisions and always gets outcoached. This team has some good talent, however the HC is seriously holding this team back from doing anything meaningful. He should have been fired in the offseason.

One game in, and I am more than satisfied with Lex Hilliard over Polite. Lex brings more to the table.

Ditching Ginn for a 5th was dumb (ironically that 5th was Nolan Carroll) . . . but the effect of that was felt last year when we had no speed on offense. Its over, time to move on. They never used him on punts anyways.

Henne we all knew was held back by Henning . . . don't know how good he can be, probably will never be elite, but he has the ability to be a solid starting QB with some of the strides we have seen.

Ditching Ginn hurt us admit it or not. he wont be the 10 catch 100 yd. per game WR everyone wanted. but like NO's schemes with R Bush. it was his threat that demanded coverage and took attention away from other offensive players like i dont know your 50 million dollar possession reciever you signed the day before. why do you think our offense was anemic last year. no big drives. no deep threat to spread the secondary out= no plays of 20+ yards. = 2nd worst offense in league. that difference was felt immediately last year, why we drafted Gates. why else would they waste a draft pick on a WR. draft picks are reserved for slow linebackers and inadequate O Lineman.

also I think well see a difference , hate to say it, with Crowder gone. our run defense looks like stink. well see. a

agree with your point. this coaching staff and FO misses on too much talent, and makes too many horrible decisions. like Tony's retirement plan is to bet it all on the Pats

Coaching: the poor ST play and the foot-shooting penalties are a broken record that just won't stop playing. Sparano is nothing more than an o-line position coach and Parcells should have left him there.

All I remember of Ginn aside from the handful of good returns he had was watching him run out of bounds and sideline to sideline, shying away from contact and falling down when noone hit him on KR's.

Tony Sparano is as good at head coaching is Sadam Husein was to war planning!

Understand the counter points to Ginn/Polite. Seems we all agree on coaching. But Ginn had the potential to get better. After investing that high of pick there was no reason to toss him. Especially when no clear replacement was evident. watching Bess on PR is painful.

yes Polite did progress, but he was money in short yardage & still could block better than Solia. Obviously there was no confidence in Lex to run or block at the GL. So that may go to coaching for not using him there. Which is nall our points regarding coaching. No Lex, no LJ, no Wallace or Moore. Why do we have these guys?

Yes, Solia definitely didnt do a good job blocking. He blocked more like a nose would rush and not like a fullback would block. Instead of trying to throw his man to the ground it seemed like he just kinda pushed him with his hands.

Can't imagine why Lex was not used there. F'ing fist pumper...

Did we blow 2 timeouts on the first drive of the game? What is it with timouts and Tony Sparano?

Ginn has one good game, and suddenly ppl want him back? Ha, only on Finheaven can you read stuff like this. Ginn is scared to get hit. But he has a great family I hear.
