In what world is Mallet a better backup than Moore?

Matt Moore killed it in when he came in for Henne, was voted team MVP, and retard face - Philbin and Ross did him wrong. They had to kiss up to the over rated, first round, golden boy draft pick. Moore always had the respect of the locker room. We have an IDIOT owner and head coach. I hope Matt Moore gets traded to a team where he starts, and take it to the Dolphins like he did to UCLA and USC when he transferred to Oregon state. So you Fanny hill lovers keep on jerking it to your 4 foot, Tanny poster in your garage, because Fannyhill isn't going to get any better than what u see now..!!! But of course, another blame to O line excuse will come up from one of you...!!!

If Moore is so good how come nobody has offered us anything of substance. If he got screwed over as you say why did he decide to resign with us knowing he would be the backup.
Even Tannehill as he is now is better than Moore

Well wouldn't you take 8 mil to hold a clip board rather than going to the Jets, Bucs, or Raiders... ?

If Moore had that locker room he definitely did not have a hold on the job. You cant judge Moore by his one good season and ignore he has been very inconsistent throughout his career. No team has been beating down his door for a reason. Now lets not take away that Moore has been a fine backup for us and been a good soldier.
Tannehill took his job and he is the one that chose to stay as a backup when he could have possibly had chances elsewhere. Im pretty sure his agent didn't see the landscape as that forthcoming for him to find a starter's job so he resigned. Up to this point no team has offered us anything for him.

Having the respect of that locker room is separate from having a hold on the job. The Philbin regime came in and does what new regimes do - they bring in "their" QB, especially when the current QB still has some lingering question marks. Consider the fan base at the time too, they literally had been foaming at the mouth with their "suck for Luck" crap and wanting the team to finally draft top talent at the position. So they took Ryan Tannehill.

This "inconsistent" rabble rabble is nonsense to be honest. He had 23 starts under his belt and when he FINALLY got to start during the majority of a season he ended up the team's MVP. How many other backup QB's do you know have done that? Of course that is what you'll attempt to marginalize and if not you, then somebody else will. That's what we do around here.

In reality I wouldn't because the starting opportunity is limited in an NFL career.
There are 32 teams if I am a 29 year old qb at the time why would I sacrifice two more years to be a certain backup.
The Bucs and Jets were similar record teams an there were other teams that had shaky qb starters. Im sure his agent did feelers and nobody was offering up a starting job so why not take the security of our offer.
Im not downing Moore for taking the offer its a rare player that can see what is true value is and not overvalue himself. He accepted his lot. I would have wanted a chance to start somewhere and he could have gotten a decent offer to play elsewhere maybe slightly less money.

We don't know anything when it comes to what offers Moore might or might not have had out there. That's purely guess work.

There is a reason he never got to start a majority of starts elsewhere. HE also got the job by default he won nothing. He lost his job in Carolina and that's why he was with us. They continually were drafting players to replace him so lets quit acting like philbin is the only coach that didn't want to start him. MAtt Cassel played quite well when he had the same chance, as for team MVP who cares , it just shows how garbage the rest fo the team was that year. You act like he is the only backup to come in and play well when a starter got hurt.
Scott Mitchell did the same here.

Of course we know what offers we have. In this day and age that leaks all the time don't be naive

If New England offered Mallet for Moore would you at least listen to the offer?

If it is straight up what else is there to listen to? I say no. Moore is a proven nfl caliber QB who knows our players, our system, and has shown that he can win. Perfect backup QB. Screw his salary - we're fine under the cap. I hope Tanne doesn't go down, but if he does for a couple weeks Moore can prob get it through it. Mallet on the other hand. Who knows? His potential rocked coming out of college but he doesn't show he has learned much up there in NE when you watch him play.

Sorry, this list is a joke.

This is 100 percent accurate. Hit the nail right on the head. The starting job was not given to Tannehill. It was a fair competition for all three QB and Tannehill fairly took the starting job from both Gerrard and Moore fairly easily. The best QB won the job

If Moore is comfortable being a backup player, that's probably why he hasn't achieved anything greater than being a backup player in the league. Is that really the type of guy you want leading your team?
