Prudence makes me say that 4 years is a realistic timetable to say "Yeah, that's a reasonable expectation."

But...let's go back one year and think, "How soon will we say 'Wow. San Francisco was one or two plays away from the Super Bowl.'?"

They had just come off a year where they were 6-10, had a new coaching staff, a quarterback who nobody believed in, and a top ten pick in the draft.

Weirder things have happened.

2 years before we get to the playoffs - so thats 2013. We get a w/c spot, win the 1st play off game then lose the secons. Nice start.
The 3rd year we regress a tad, still make the playoffs, but go out in the 1st.
The 4th year we gom to the championship game & lose.
The 5th year we win. With either Tennehil, Weeden or Barclay under centre., These three will need a couple of years to learn, then boom.
We also pick up in the draft some outstanding WR, OLB, DE to turn our game around and learn how to win.

So 2016/17 should be a nice year

At least 10-15 years from now, because Andrew Luck will be winning Super Bowls every year until he retires. At least this is what I have been told....
