NFLPA needs to get behind Richie....... I have a feeling this will be getting ugly

Let me ask you guys this......If a cornerback is out there during a game..trash talking, taking shots at a recievers family and threatening him...Is that bullying?
Not to me..but whats the difference? if its on a team or opposing teams?

Yes and no. There's really no difference to me, in terms of the behavior. But I suppose that a player expects that, and doesn't expect it from his teammate. But I don't personally believe they targeted him to injure him, or because they disliked him. They rode him hard, and as far as the money thing, I've heard before of players that had to pay for things, for another player, so that doesn't surprise me.

If it was one player, like Incognito, I may tend to believe Martin. But it was the whole line. So what...they're all bullies? They're all crossing the line? Even a vet like Clabo who just got here, and has no history with his teammates and wouldn't be inclined to go along with something that was unfair? I think they were just trying to get Martin to, and I hate to say this, but yes, man up.

Good for Cog. Everywhere I turn I see idiots on Espo, NFL, yahoo, etc pointing the finger right at Cog with no information whatsover. It's almost as if they need to hit a quota of talking points and might as well use the big tough guy to point blame on. I'm beyond sick of how useless the media is when it comes to reporting the news and how adept they are at promoting their agenda.

I hope Martin himself comes out and says how it was a personal issue and not something that happened in a cafeteria

Having rookies pay for things goes on with every team and has for a long time. Can't believe some in the media are acting like this is just a Dolphins thing.

Dolphins vets making rookies pay up to $30k using them as ATM's. Is this a normal NFL thing? I've heard of similar things in the past so idk if this is being blown out of proportion or not.

Is anybody really surprised? The NFL like the military, has become a tool for social engineering. Testosterone will be outlawed eventually.

Agreed and that's the saddest part. The dolphins aren't the only lockerroom where this happens I bet. But it's being spun like that. Nfl network during pregame earlier had a sit down with Marshall Faulk, Irvin, sapp and warner. They seemed to be airing on the side of caution when assuming this was true bullying.

Isn't it possible Martin (although he may have issues) can't handle it and broke down? What if those who teased him didn't know he was capable of picking up his things and just leaving? Why is that dismissed as a possibility and just assumed the other players involved went "too far"?

At this point, no one really knows what happened, which makes it difficult to take sides. ESPN/ABC likely have a legal team larger than the Dolphins roster and management. It's impossible for me to believe that they continue with this story based on nothing but speculation. It makes no sense, they have to have something solid.

Now, whether that crosses the line from normal NFL team practices to a human resources issue may be a different issue. This may be bringing to light old things no longer acceptable today, similar to the bounty deal in NO. We shall see.

Taking on the Espn/abc/ Disney juggernaut can only be done by Ross or NFLPA

Our only advantage is that we have all the info first hand

Richie better watch his tweets. I would not surprise me I Dolphin mngt puts a muzzle on him

It's not about nothing, most of what they're talking about is probably true. They do stick rookies with tabs. Even non-rookies. They do ride each other and are competitive. But for the most part, they're on the same team and will be supportive of each other. Nothing Incognito has said or done leads me to believe otherwise. He was genuinely supportive of Long, to get him back. He believes in cohesion on the line. He has argued with PFF on twitter that the whole O line deserves more credit for Millers 4.8 yards per carry. He has said he welcomes Martin back. And Martin himself, blames a tough lockeroom atmosphere but no one person in particular, and never felt it was serious enough to go to the coach.

There's obviously truth in a lot of what the reporters are saying, but there's also something called perspective, and context. They're completely blowing it out of proportion and demonizing players they choose to single out because it's good for a story, and gets them attention and web clicks.

I dont disagree that his happens in every football teams locker.... but maybe it just got to be over the top. Every semesters fraternitys across the nation haze their new recruits.... but only when it becomes over the top.. goes it come to light.... and this is probably what happened here..

I can't believe that amount is normal.

According to Will Davis Whom was there and I trust more than any reporter with a "Source" the bill was split.

Will Davis @WillieD_effect
The bill was definitely split... They would never put that on one man to pay for it all. Haha now that would be crazy...

The difference is, those are children, or young adults. These are grown men, who have graduated high school, graduated college, worked their way through tough football programs, and are now in the NFL. Some have wives and children. So no, there is no "power imbalance" or virginal experiences with hazing and fraternities. These are all big men on the O line. Until Martin brings us something substantial, which I very much doubt he will, then I'm sorry, I can't equate this to bullying in the traditional sense.

So far all I've heard about is paying for dinners and trips, and O linemen getting up with their trays and sitting somewhere else. So what. If they make you carry their gear, or a bunch of other things I've heard about, then you simply either put up with it until it passes, or you stand up for yourself and say eff off, and walk away.
