Incongnito's Suspension

So if we bring incognito back, yall think we will lose fans or something or will just be talked about in the media. If the players are okay, the coaches are okay with it, and the local fans are okay with it. Bring him back. Coaches and organization always talking about preaching family, if he has done nothing that warrant this scrutiny and the dolphins as a family know it. Then they should stand united, and at the end i think the phins will start to gain more respect around the league.

Its unlikely that he'll be reinstated anytime soon if at all but i would love for it to happen. Its obvious that at this point Martin has problems mentally and couldnt take what he dished out. Im all for cutting Martin, why would any Dolphin fan or teammate want a guy back who quits on them and tries to throw the entire team and staff under the bus?

I hope that racial thing is put to bed; despite all Richie's foibles, that's something that he was never accused of I believe. And if his feet are gonna be held to the fire for those hot-button words, many of the hypocritical BSPN buffoons and others can't let go of, aside from condemning and damning Jesse Jackson for his "Hymietown" anti-semitism, they should take a look at Ndomikong Suh's actions which can be construed as speaking even louder: all 6 of his most egregious attacks have been on white players ( Andy Dalton, Evan Deitrich-Smith, Matt Schaub, Jay Cutler, Jake Delhomme, and in Sept John Sullivan) despite the league being what, 70% African American? Not saying he is, but that's a helluva coincidence; however while you're waiting for that phenomenon to be explored by the talking heads, don't hold your breath as Richie is low hanging fruit for using a word instead of 6 deeds. And Meriweather? He's a headhunter but despite multiple offenses he ended up with a 1 game suspension, which is the equivalent for Incog of Monday night.

Joe looks like a bum now and it will be apparent with his players.

Looks like they did no intel on their part and went along with Martin's story and what the media was saying. Soft and weak is Joe. His team will not care what he says and play like it...yet you cannot win football games like that.

Yup and you said the exact same thing before the Cincy game.

Incognito will never play for this team again, the sexual harassment report killed his career with the Dolphins. I'm not sure he'll get picked up by another team considering that he's a mediocre and broken down lineman. He's not worth the risk.

[/COLOR]By the way, I have been easy on Joe, blaming others for the issue. My point NOW is that it seems Joe suspended Incognito based on legal and media pressure. That might be the right move politically, but not when you are trying to win games. Bad job there.

No....I think this is wrong. Joe and the Dolphins organization suspended Incognito because they were presented with a claim of bullying and harassment AND a voicemail with Incognito using racial comments to Martin. They did what ANY reasonable business would do when presented with such information. Now that the investigation and press is starting to bring out some other facts that weren't originally known, they also have the right to rethink their position.

First, we have no idea what's true and what isn't at this point. You and some others have taken the position that everything that props up Martin's side of the story has to be false while everything that props up Incognito's side must be true. We haven't heard the voicemails. We haven't seen the texts and the context surrounding them. We aren't privy to what players may say privately to the NFL investigators that they may not be willing to say publicly. We have no idea if the league is going to consider the things said simple locker room banter or if they're going to deem it unacceptable behavior.

The issue of the strip clubs still leaves questions unanswered. I have no issue with anyone going to a strip club, however, if those were actual meetings that were supposed to further some football related goal, that venue is a distraction and counterproductive to the task. If there were no football related goals to accomplish, then Incognito demanding payment for non-attendance amounts is extortion. Of further interest, if these were team sanctioned meetings, was all the money being collected in fines turned over to the team or was Incognito pocketing it?

Then there's the misconduct at the golf outing that was swept under the rug. I'm not sure if the league will make that part of their investigation or not, but it's certainly another reason to be leery of bringing this guy back on the team.

Finally, there's this fact all aglow in neon letters 10 miles high: Incognito is a bad risk. He was trouble in Nebraska; he was trouble in Oregon; he was trouble in St. Louis; he was trouble in Buffalo. He's been trouble everywhere he's been. And he's trouble that Ross can't afford. Ross is having enough trouble finding people to get behind his stadium proposal. It would be stupid of him to risk another Incognito story down the road, and there's no other player on the team more likely to get in trouble than him. If they bring Incognito back and he does something stupid yet again, Ross looks like a fool. People rarely bet their money on fools.

Anyway... since Incognito is the subject of this investigation, and since the Fins requested this investigation be conducted by the NFL, I don't see how they can bring him back before the league gives them the go ahead because if the report comes back and it buries Incognito, it's yet another piss-poor management decision on the part of the Dolphins organization. And that's probably the last thing Ross wants right now.
So...... you don't like strippers?

That report was a year and a half ago... Inocgnito was starting this year IIRC...

I don't see the suspension being lifted until the investigation is over or he files a grievance with the league. The FO was put in a bad position and the suspension was damage control. With Incognitos golf shenanigans becoming public, I think he's done. Wouldn't be shocked to see him get released after the report is issued. Martin will be put on the NFI list and Ireland gets the axe. Not sure about Philbin, I think he may be gone too unless the report clears him...don't see that happening.

As for the Golf shenanigans , that was dismissed by the president Roger Goodell they just brought that up as stuff that he was accused of since he got in this trouble , but he wont be punished for that , its done and over with .

well i guess whats good for the goose is good for the gander ?? Martins text messages to Cog was just as bad , and had the same vulger slurs as what Cog said to Martin , IMO Martin went to the wrong people and and it should have been handled by Martin , Philbin and Cog Not the media ..

I have a good feeling Cog will be back for the Chargers. Philbin will sit him down, tell him that's what they had to do given the scrutiny, and I think Cog gets it. If Cog accepts it like an adult he gets a 1 year contract to stay next year signed in a few months after people start talking about something else.

Totally agree, I think that this has destroyed Richie value in free agency next year. We will likely be able to sign him for the veteran minimum, he is a good locker room guy that 51 players seem to appreciate. Jon Martin has played his last down in the NFL, no team will want to bring in an average OT with his baggage that is a cancer to a team.
