Most of the threads are about SFL or Gayder night so I thought something different would be refreshing.
Lots of members have meet with current or past Dolphin players . I know Nubs posted great pictures of a ceramony where he meet some old stars like Griese I believe.
I had an interest adventure many moon ago that you guys may find amusing.
To set the stage the company i worked for sponsered an Alzheimer awareness golf tournament.
Several former NFL players attended and former Fin's great Tony Nathan was in my foursome.
The other guys were all New Yorkers who barely know who Tony was so I got to share the golf cart with him the whole day.
I'm next to Tony in the middle with the stripped shirt.
The guy was great fun. He was coaching running backs for Tampa at the time. Dude was pumped up to maybe 250 and looked more like a linebacker than RB.
Tony hit the ball a ton but usually hooked it out of bounds or into the many lakes on the course.
I asked about the famous hook and lateral play vs San Diego and he said they just make that up in the huddle which I thought was very un Shula like. Had a blast but here's the kicker. I got there late and it was a scamble so I had no idea who else was attending from the NFL.
The group in front of us was slow so we gave them a hard time. At the turn we meet them and Tony started a conversation with one so I joined in. It was a former Buffalo Bill's RB by the name of O.J. Simpson. The guy looked really old to me with lots of grey hair but was very nice and all.
A few months latter he was driving away in the white bronco on national TV accused of murder and you guys know the rest.
Let's hear about your Dolphin encounters.
