I also voted for the game. I almost felt guilty doing it too. I can't wait to see Dan go in.

But this is a new era in Dolphins football. Doesn't matter if it's a preseason game to me. We'll be getting our first look at a lot of things. Plus, IT'S OFFICIALLY FOOTBALL SEASON!! :woot:

My sentiments EX-ZACH-LY :D . It'll be nice to see Dan but we've been in a football drought for...so.....long, and finally we'll get to see our beloved Miami Dolphins at work again!!

Man you said it perfectly... I looked at the poll for a minute, and I REALLY wanted to vote for Dan, felt like I owed it to him. But damn, this season... everything is so new! I know what's going to happen on Sunday, but I have no clue what to expect on Monday. I had to go with the game, preparing for the unexpected is thrilling!

Saban's first game is the real draw for me...I loved Marino for all the things he did for the organization, on and off the field. I loved the pure joy of watching him operate as a QB. He was fun to watch and I admire the records he set...But the HOF was a given for him..there was no speculation about whether he'd make it or not...I'll watch part of the ceremony and am very happy for him....

But...the real draw for this weekend is to see if Saban's coaching is starting to work. To see how this group of players are doing, etc...the here and now, I'm afraid is more important than the past.

Marino going to the HoF is just a formality. I really don't want to hear the espn professors telling us that Marino isn't the best QB and doing their best to place others above marino, just to show how smart they are by eschewing the obvious. This weekend will be spent watching Marino brought back to reality.

The game,But I stared at my monitor for several minutes thinking we shouldn't have to choose between the two.
But the reason I chose the game is as we were watching the Dolphins go
1-8 last year with a coach with no clue, and a Q.B. with no arm,and so many other problems myself like so many others began to wonder Is it over?
As someone on here put it are we "The Arizona Cardinals of the south"?
The perfect season,The super bowls,The winning records, is all of that a distant memory that no longer matters?
OH HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are back, and every body knows it. Just look at all the trolls coming out of the woodwork trying to make themselfs feel better.
The world sees us bringing in the cream of the crop in coaches Saban, H.H, Lineahan. The draft well what else could you have asked for?
Oh and by the way Heeeeeees baaaack!!!! While I personaly do not like Ricky Williams how do you think the rest of the afc east feels about him being back? Think there might be a few defensive cordinators burning the midnight oil?
What about the offensive cordinators? Jason Taylor open end what the heck is that? He was already killing us now what is he going to do?
DOLPHINS FOOTBALL IS BACK TO IT'S WINNING WAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put down Marino, since it's only a preseason game and we likely will see 0 strategy and gameplanning. If it were the 1st regular season game though, it'd win hands down in my book.

Marino, of course!

The game will be fun to watch, it is the firat game of the year, of the new regime, etc, but I can't get too worked up about an early pre-season game. We will see relatively sloppy play, and a lot of 2-3-4 stringers, but Sunday will be one of our last times to see Dan in a football role, so it's gotta be Dan! :D

Monday night for sure. Not to downplay Dan but the HOF for him was a mere formality. I will watch him go in to the HOF and relive some great memories and be happy for him but we all knew he was going to Canton.

I love the Dolphins but this is just the first pre-season game so we will be seeing many players that wont even be on the team when it counts. Dan Marino gave us all so many great memories and to watch him be inducted into the HOF will bring back some damn good memories. Dan is a person who inspires people to succeed and work hard and never give up. Dan Marino inspires me to be a better person so my vote went to Dan The Man. Thanks for the memories you are the best of all time.

I love Marino and always will (i've got 4 marino jerseys, the second 2 in our new orange and teal) but I'm ready for some football that's being played on the field.

Dan was great and his induction was an automatic first round choice. Everyone knew that.

But, its Time to see the Fins back on the field. Nothing beats that in my book pre-season or regular season.

For me, I put Dan's induction way ahead of the game. The HOF is an acknowledgment of the career and contribution to football by the greatest Dolphin ever. It is important to take the time to reflect on the astonishing accomplishments of Marino as a QB and Dolphin. If you don't appreciate greatness, how do you judge performances of any player?

The football game will be like any other preseason game. We'll see a second or two of people who count and then the next 59 minutes with guys you hope you never see as it will mean we sustained a key injury. There will be the obligitory plethora of penalties and sloppy play on both sides.

I think Dan's induction into the Pantheon of greatness means more than a sloppily played game between scrubs.
