Interesting Poll on the Home Page

For me, it's the game. I'll take Saban and the re-vamped Dolphins (even if it is pre-season)over suits and speeches any day. The HOF ceremonies to me are very boring, and even with Danny being inducted, I still probably wont watch. Congrats to him though.

Can't make it to camp in person from the left coast so I had to pick the game. I can't wait to see the phins in action this year. I know preseason doesn't matter, but we looked awful last year and it continued in the real games. I want to see some energy and less stupid penalties. That would make me quite happy.

Sorry Dan. If you were playing, it would be different!

50/50 right now, definately more excited about marino, he is the reason why many of us are even fans of the team right now, and he is/was the heart of the team and always took the high road on anything concerning the team.

As for Saban's first game, I don't really count preseason, and I would have to imagine that this first "game" will be bland playbook wise, and after the first or second series, we won't even see any starters, so that is a joykill right there. now, if this poll is about the first game of the season...

I'm a fan because they were the only team in Florida when I was old enough to become a real fan.

By the time we drafted Marino I had watched my Dolphins go undefeated, win two Superbowls and go to three straight, idolized players like Bob Griese, Larry Csonka and many others....so obviously, while I am an enormous Marino fan, he was not the reason I became a Dolphin fan. I loved watching Marino play but I feel for someone your age that not only missed our three year 70's dynasty but also was too young to clearly remember Marino's 1984, you would have been 4 or 5 right?

Just seeing the Dolphins on the field is enough for me. I love Dan Marino but not as much as I love football.

While I'm excited to see Marino get inducted I am currently more excited about the future under Saban, the bottomline is we didn't win a championship during the Marino era, its high time we ended that drought and I believe Saban will end it.

As much as I love ole Danny, I am more of a present not past guy. Excited is an understatement on how I feel about the beginning of the Nick Saban era of Miami Dolphins football. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

H of F, Saban is just starting his career in Miami, but Marino gave us 17 yrs of blood, sweat and tears for our Dolphins. So for me it was no contest.

And the Preacher said, "Amen!!" Coaches, good, bad, or indifferent come and go. Players like Marino don't come along that often. So, for 17 years of superb football and leadership, Thanks, Dan!

I know it sound like fence straddling but I am excited about both events. Its a great week for Dolphin fans.

Dan was part of our glorious past ,Saban and the new look team is part of the future.

I had Dan in my HOF for many years now so the ceremony is just a confirmation of what we all know. That he was the greatest QB that ever played the game and that we were priviledged to witness his magic as our QB for 17 yrs.

If push came to shove I would admit that I would rather find out about our existing team as assembled by Saban and his crew.I have very high expectations and I am looking forward to more glorious years under Saban.

The way I look at it Dan going into the hall is number one in my book! Congrads Dan! This should be a huge motivator for Nick, and the team. This weekend you just can't lose being a Dolphin Fan! My Dolphin Flag is flying in front of my house, and I am just so pumped up!:drinkers:

For me it's not even close. I'm a fan of the team above any individual player. Even though Dan is my favorite player ever, he just can't compete with the team.

I live in the here and now.....Monday night has me 10 times more psyched than watching Marino's induction....

Monday nite. If however, I was attending the induction, it would certainly be that.
We all knew Dans day would come. Many of us old dudes knew it early on in his career.
Monday starts the new season after a rather crappy one...I'm ready. :D
