Interesting quote by Marshall after the game

At this point henne is but a secondary thought ... the o-line has risen to the biggest problem we have by far. Nice work O-line guru.

I'm with this opinion. Henne hasn't been awful out there. He's actually made a few good throws. He scrambled a bit in the Carolina game when the pocket broke down. But overall, he isn't playing bad enough to worry so much or make excuses for him. Let people bash him or praise him. It doesn't matter because he is the starter right now.

The real problem is the right side of that OL. It is not stable against a strong front seven. They are getting through too often. Sparano has been aggravating this OL for too long by picking and poking at it. That is not how you build a strong OL. They need time to play together and gel. Columbo is stiff and getting too old for the game. Carey has never played well at any other spot besides RT. If you wait for castoffs from other teams, that is what we will have - a patchwork OL. And maybe that is the best we can get this year. Or maybe Sparano needs to quit dreaming about his Dallas days and get rid of Columbo.

It's hard to say what kind of a running game we have with the OL playing so poorly. So until we get the OL fixed, our offense will struggle and our QB and RBs will look worse than they are.

Chad Henne is not a great QB but then he was hampered as a Dolphin by poor coaching. Easy example is look at play action play fakes (which he is now better at).

Henning, Lee and Sparano took the gunslinger out of Chad Henne. His choice of audibles were mostly just one or sometimes two others plays. If he did see something the defense was doing he had little say over adjusting to it.

It's the coaching....or lack of.....

P.S. Going to suck when Nolan leaves next season.

Did Marshall get that quote off in under 3 seconds? If not a buzzer should have cut him off mid sentence.. lol

I was at the game in my Henne jersey, he is playing much better in the last two games, I really hope he keeps it up.

What surprised me was how many Dolphin fans were at the game, but I was the only one there in a Henne jersey.

It's preason. This is the time to make those errors, I'm sure BMarsh is mad at himself as anyone for losing that ball.

I was more impressed with Marshall's power, speed, agility, and concentration than dissapointed or concerned by his fumble. People keep talking about how we are seeing a different Chad Henne this year, this looks like a different Brandon Marshall. He is showing the kind of yards after the catch ability that made him so dangerous in Denver. I woudln't be surprised if he has as many YAC yards in the last two games than he had all last season.

As I mentioned last year, a hip injury really affects the performance of a WR. We will see the real Marshall this year. He is going to be good.

In typical homer finheaven fashion, I cannot wait for the boo birds to come back out when the o-line gets Henne repeatedly killed and he forces the ball because of it and then it again will fall back on Henne's shoulders. The guy appears to be seriously screwed in Miami whether it be coaching or the lack of supporting cast. IMO, no way a guy like Matt Ryan, Stafford or Bradford could succeed in the mockery that has been the dolphins for the past 3 years concerning the qb position.

I couldn't agree with this more. I remember henne in his first preseason. He was fitting 20 yard ropes into tight spaces. Little by little they tried to convert him into a west coast offense check down queen. The (almost?) ruined him.

Against carolina when i saw him calling audibles and pointing at defenders (let alone 4/5 wr sets) i actually started screaming with joy.

As a lacrosse coach i learned something a long time ago. Ive been preaching that henning never learned it. Sometimes players regress when they aren't challenged enough. Some coaches "simplify" when execution is lacking.

How many of you ever heard a coach say, "if we can't run these 3plays we can't run anything. We will keep running them until we do them right."

That was dan henning (or maybe sparano).

The problem is that leads to more failure because you are predictable.

Meanwhile, if you trust your guys to learn more, you have more options as a coach. You can play chess out there. Sure, some guys will fail when mentally challenged, but you want to know that sooner than later anyway.

man, you were probly gettin ready to burn that sucker huh?:D

I know lol, I didn't even expect to get like 10, let alone 83. I have no idea how it blew up.

The funniest thing is that you've only given out 6 in yor FH career. Would be interesting to see what the heck those people had to say that got you goin'!

I'm loving the optimism around here in the last two weeks. I think our line will look a lot different with big Jake out there. I pray that it will, at least. And if Chad can post just an 85+ passer rating -- our team could be dangerous.

It was all Dan henning's fault, now Chad henne will be great. It was the man who led an O w/ jake Delhomme to a SB that was the only problem. Smooth sailing ahead of Chad.:rolleyes2:

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. Henning/Lee turned a slightly robotic, turnover-prone QB into a dumbed-down droid with as much influence, control and responsibility as the robotic arm that puts doors on Chevy's in the production-line. He tried to make Henne productive by eliminating everything from his game other than checking it down as soon as the risk of any error emerged.

Daboll is actually trying to coach up his QB and iron out his wrinkles rather than forbid him to do anything. He coaxing the robot out of Henne rather than accepting that's all Henne is capable of.

And the results so far are encouraging enough to make me wonder whether you should be more worried about your QB this preseason...
