Would Brees have flourished under Wanny as he has under Schottenheimer and the OC in San Diego? They have helped develop him and I just don't see him being developed like that here. He might not have put up those Pro Bowl numbers.
 
2 questions for the brees/rivers lovers

Brees may be a one year wonder. If he has a bad year this year he will be the one dealt. Why would we want him if that is the case? Do we really need another mediocre qb?

SD will also want a lot for the unproven rivers if they do keep Brees. What is everyone willing to give up for him? More than a 1st?

I know we are looking for our next qb but are we looking in the right place with this situation?
 
brees or rivers one of them will be in aqua and orange in 2006!!!!!!!!!!!
 
i think we should wait to see whats available when the time comes rather then make all these hasty decisions now
 
2 Things that piss me off.

1. Clinton did not grab Osama when he had a chance.
2. And we did not trade Fielder for Rivers!!!!!
 
I sure wouldnt waste my number one next year for rivers ... he hasnt unseated brees and why do all the guys on this board love to give away draft choices for an un proven qb?...Like i said .. it is way to early to start talking about guys that may not even be there for the taking...once again the rivers homers are going to try to make this seem possible... but i stand by what i said ... untill rivers plays a game for real.how could anyone want to give up next years number one?!And that may not be enough for rivers,since we might actually win a few games this year and our number one would be much lower than this year. If that is logic then I would suggest at least waiting till the end of the year to even entertain the idea...Till then just a bunch of silliness on the part of the wayward fans who have already given up on the qbs we have.Anyone who is that interested in rivers is watching TOO MUCH "game tape" LOL

I agree. I don't understand all the love that brees/ rivers get on this board.

rookies struggle. Rivers would of had to be AMAZING to unseat Brees.
 
I don't understand why anyone would not think Rivers is worth our first round pick next year?!?!?!?! Just say we ended up with the 2nd overall pick again, "IF" Rivers was in next years draft he would go either first or second after Leinhart (Sp). And then everyone would think it's ok to use the pick on him, but it's not ok to use the pick to trade for him??? Pls explain that to me.

Why didn't a rookie unseat Drew Brees? Maybe because Brees threw 27 touchdowns versus like 4 interceptions and was a Pro Bowler?

The light as you call it is very dim like some of the rivers homers here.Look at the FACTS. He hasnt done crap yet in this league and he is NOT a sure thing.. We will not be able to get him next year so just stop the nonsense now.
