Ireland makes the Radio Waves

I hate this. The comment that Langford is a " great player". The comment that Odrick is a "pressure player". These guys are not
Impact players at all! Odrick is a first round pick and has hardly played like it. Throw in the Henne comment and I am left with only one word : CLUELESS
Patience? How many years of below .500 before fans have the right to expect more?

I would disagree on Odrick. He was basically a rookie last year having missed almost all the previous year and I thought he showed a lot of impact for a 3-4 DE. Langford is solid but not spectacular (yet). Recall, he was a third round pick so to get a solid starter out of him isn't bad.

"Ireland says Tony is a great guy, but the main goal around here is to beat the Jets & Patriots. Agrees with Young Ron that when you put that Jets hat on you are dead to us."

TRUE.

...and Odrick is going to be a beast.

To be honest: I think he just doesn't want to throw anybody under the bus on the radio, where it's recorded, and replayed over and over...

I understand what you're saying, but comon man.. Do you really expect him to come out and say he sucks. He can't. No GM would do that to any player regardless of how he played.

It's GM soeak. You'll be able to tell the value he places in them by the contract their offered and if they resign. I think Soliai resigns, Langford.. not so sure. But then again, it's easier to resign them when we have much bigger needs on the team IMO.

Wish he would have been asked:

a)why Ross had to step in to veto the Orton trade- a deal that should never have been considered at all

b)why he himself didn't step in to steer Ross away from a mediocre ground and pound HC with control issues having only 6 winning seasons out of 17 yet was being courted like a beautiful virgin princess

c)exactly how did the decision to draft wee Patty White go down - and was everyone sober?

The idea that Ross stepped in to vetoe a trade is likely another idea that has been completely fabricated by the media.

Am I the only one that things Ireland is a pompous douchebag that says the word "me" too much?

O'Drick will be a force lined up at end in the 4-3. He has very good quickness and speed for a man his size.
I usually get in trouble for comparing our players to HOF guys, but he plays the same game as Bruce Smith IMHO.
Obviously he is not Bruce, but some similarities. Hopefully he get some of that results.
A really big guy with speed that can get after the QB with speed, or power to break down the pocket.
He also has excellent awareness of the ball, evident by his interceptions.
I think we got a pretty good player at 28. Just my .02

Regarding Ireland. Just damage control. The guy should be a politician.

I'm just happy this team recognizes they need more media airtime instead of silence all the time. It is refreshing.

A) How do we really know this is true. Bottom line it did not happen and it we ended up with Moore which I believe surprised some people on this forum how well he played (including myself). So do we give Ireland credit for Moore.

B) Number one we know he was on the plane with Ross to hire Harbaugh which did not happen last year. Again how do we know that was Ross idea for sure. They certainly traveled out there together and back to Miami after we know the Harbaugh hire did not work out. What would you offer was their alternatives last year when that did not work out. IMO Tony was done after the last game against the Pats the team gave up on him led my Marshall. What a disaster. IMO Ireland and Ross probably did not expect that to happen and did not react quickly enough in the coaching change and tried to sneak in Harbaugh under the wire. After that did not work they were basically stuck with Tony S. Just MO. Remember this it was Ross who made the decision to tell Fisher that he had to keep Ireland as GM to come on board. Do you think that if Ross really thought Ireland was to blame for loosing Harbaugh last year he would have let him stick around especailly with his long time NFL buddy Peterson advising him.

C.) Parcell admitted to making the Pat White decision. If you looke at our four drafts with Ireland the first 2 drafts espcially in the early rounds had Parcells writte all over them. We drafted big prototype palyers and we drafted in pairs that has been changing in the past 2 drafts.

Vaark was referring to Fisher.

I don't agree. I absolutely think you should examine every possibility to improve the team, it's when the asking price got too high for orton's level of talent/ceiling that we should've and did back out.

PHP:
Ireland admitting he has some inside track on RG3 raving about RG3 on Big 105.9. What's he mean about that?

Exactly what i want to hear! Although the jimmy graham stuff is disturbing. If i know for sure i gotta have this player (andrew luck, rg3) you do anything and everything to get him. In business its called pulling the trigger.

I dont have a problem with anything Ireland said in those interviews...
