I'm glad Philbin is going with what he believes works, not merely the easiest route in fixing this team. I'm actually excited to see the 4-3 back in Miami...we will definitely need a few defensive ends via the draft or free agency. I could see Dansby playing the MIKE and Burnett playing the WILL, leaving Misi to play the SAM. For example, the Giants run:
SAM: Mathias Kiwanuka (6-3, 265 lbs.)
MIKE: Chase Blackburn (6-4, 245 lbs.)
WILL: Michael Boley (6-3, 230 lbs.)
Our version could be:
SAM: Koa Misi (6-3, 255 lbs.)
MIKE: Karlos Dansby (6-4, 250 lbs.)
WILL: Kevin Burnett (6-3, 240 lbs.)
Also, Soliai will be gone...he's a much better fit for 3-4 than a 4-3. That leaves Starks and Odrick at DT for us, with Wake filling in at RE. We'll need some DE's, and some depth for sure. McDaniel fills in behind Odrick, and a vet will be needed behind Starks for depth purposes.
Again, I'm really excited to see this team go back to the 4-3 and I don't think it will be too painful of a transition because of the versatility of the players we currently have!
