Ireland telling scouts to look for players who fit 4-3

misi worries me really bad @ MLB ..... dansby and burnett could transition tho and wake shouldn't be a problem at DE but we do need someone else on the other side of him.

As of right now, I'd put Burnett at SLB, Dansby in the middle and Misi at WLB... But in a perfect world you'd have Dansby and Burnett on the out-side and look to fill the MLB spot... my 2 cents...
We will be in a good spot to pick up a MLB. Even a trade down will net either Burfict or Hightower. How crazy would it be to get Mario Williams??? Probably lead the league in sacks!!!

Our holes don't really change if we switch to a 4-3. We still need one pass rusher (just a DE instead of OLB) and one linebacker (Misi is terrible). Plus, it makes Soliai expendable and we save money. I'd still re-sign Langford if I could and rotate him, Starks and Odrick inside. Would probably cut McDaniel to save money though.

Dude I'm all for using Soliai money on Mario Williams and drafting Luke Kuechly to play MLB for us...Front seven would be brutal....Our so called weak secondary would not matter....I know we need playmakers on offense and a RT, but we can get a TE in the 2nd round and an OL in the 3rd.....along with Flynn team would be much better than last year....am I crazy or can I see this happening..

Misi is not a MLB. He is too soft IMHO.

We need a tackling machine like Zack Thomas. A heat seeking wrecking ball MLB.

y'all can blast me (and you will), but we've got a tweener LB who loves to hit, lined up 15yds back... "The Bullfrog" YBell.

Yeremiah Bell will hopefully be cut for salary cap reasons. He's got nothing left. Certainly should no longer be a starter.

It would show that Ross and Ireland are serious about a championship!!! Wake and Williams would have 30 sacks. Oddrick and Starks can use their speed in the middle to get sacks. Burnett and Dansby can blitz on 3rd downs!!! Wow. The secondary would not be an issue with that much pressure. Signing Flynn is a must though. We can draft Kuechly or trade down to acquire more picks. Fleener should be our target in the 2nd and go best tackle in the 3rd. This would ensure a playoff spot with those players and the weak schedule in 2012.

Bye Solai !:3w:

Not being forced to resign him is worth it alone..........
Still would like to see him back, ofcourse. They're just better off spending the money elsewhere.

By switching to the 4-3, your maximizing the abilities of Starks,Odrick, and ?Merling?. Your maximizing the abilities of Dansby and Misi. Thats equates to the whole foundation of the front 7 having more opportunities to produce. Never thought i'd say this, but they'd be stupid not to switch back !

Also, Soliai will be gone...he's a much better fit for 3-4 than a 4-3.

Prove it. Counter points... 1) Paul played a 4-3 DT in college 2) If you recall Zach had 2 monster DT's in front of him.

Misi, at one point played DT, in college but was primarily a DE. He is ideally a 4-3 LDE.

Other Mike possibilities. Drafting Keller (Ohio) or Carder (TCU).

I don't think it's that Soliai is BETTER suited for the 3-4--he can play in either scheme. But he's MORE valuable in the 3-4 because 360-pound nose tackles are hard to come by, so 3-4 teams will pay more for a guy like him. In the 4-3, Miami would have guys like Starks, Langford (who will be cheaper to re-sign than Soliai), Odrick, McDaniel, and Merling for depth, so the need for a monster NT isn't there.

I think Soliai would not be a bad person to keep as a DT in the 4-3 system for rushing downs, he could be our tim bowens for the current team. Still I am sure he is not worth the money he will get on the market

Hopefully we can steal Curtis lofton from the falcons

It's weird to think about those kinds of guys that were never fits for us before but could be now if we shift to the 4-3. Lofton is certainly a strong middle linebacker.

On the other hand, I don't really want to pay too much for one. Good tackling linebackers aren't hard to find (look at Colin McCarthy in Tennessee). I kind of consider them the running back of the defense--don't overpay for them in free agency when you can find them in the middle rounds of the draft.
