Ireland was wrong about……

revisionist history. jake had been injury prone and not playing well for us for practically two seasons. yet we still wanted him here. he went to play elsewhere. He left last weeks game (concussion) and I don't know if he's been cleared for the next game yet. Regardless, before the season I would have told you it was far more likely he would play poorly and/or get injured than be a top LT.

All options were ****ty imo.
Sign Long to a big contract? ****.
Trade for fat Albert and sign him to a big contract? ****.
Trade up and take a LT at 3? ****.
Sign one or more the the washed up free agent Tackles to short term deals? ****.

All of those options were **** but each and every one was still better than what we ended up doing. My problem is we shouldn't be in the position to have to decide between a bunch of ****ty options in the first place and if you end up there at least make the right ****ty decision.

I agree with this. None of the high profile options were ideal. Best hope was for someone like Armstead to slip to our pick. It almost happened. He wouldn't be ready now but at least you'd have a talented prospect instead of next to nothing.

To compound the error, Ireland took Dallas Thomas when Brian Schwenke was still available. I'll never understand that one. Schwenke is now starting for the Titans. It was amusing on Inside the NFL this week when Cory Reddick of the Colts got into shoving and verbal matches last week with both rookies, Warmack and Schwenke.

Schwenke was very strong during Senior Bowl week. Thought he'd go in the early 3rd at the latest.
