according to a tweet by Armando...Take it for what it is worth.

Dolphins source tells me GM Jeff Ireland has been on the phone with other teams much of the afternoon talking possible trades. But "based on number of willing participants that don't want to [abuse] you or participants that have something we want" trade is unlikely.

Ireland was so busy working the phones for a trade that he had time to call his nemesis Armando Salguero and let him know, just because. OK.

I for one think Ireland's job is on the line and he is in desperation mode. I would not be surprised one bit if he makes a move because if he's done at the end of the year the damage is already done should he lose his job. The incoming GM would be left with much less to work with. This has the workings of a lion backed into a corner and may not end well. That being said, how many times have we heard that he is "working the phones" trying to make a trade only to promote someone from the practice squad? I believe that is a move to save face and "show" that all options were exhausted.

i doubt it...not many teams gonna sell...imo we have our deadline addition already mckinnie...and it was a good decision...saved our season

As I am sure every GM in the league is doing the same thing today. Wouldn't be doing their job if they weren't at least listening or talking to other teams.

The trading deadline is in 90 minutes. Jeff Ireland is at Dolphins camp today, but I didn't see him out at practice. Working the lines?

Exactly.

You're going to have to ride the storm that you built, Ireland.

Why is he all the sudden in "oh ****" mode? Why wait til the last day to make these calls?

I applaud him if hes pursuing worthy talent that might have become available.

If hes trying to fix what he broke this offseason, then this is horrific. Ive been one of those slamming the offensive line, and i still maintain its crap, but the bed was made this offseason. Gutting our team of draft picks would only make a bad situation worse.

This is my concern ... that Ross has given him an ultimatum to save this season or be done.
