I was just compiling stats from AJ's last 4 games.

89 of 164 passing, 0.542%

847 yards

6 TD's and 6 INT's

And only 1 INT in his final 3 games. I think that for a first year starter learning a lame system, poor o-line (understatement I know) along with a very bad running game. He split snaps in preseason with Mr. Ears. I would say the deck was really stacked against him and he still seemed to hang in there. I really hate the fact that he will be splitting snaps with Gus. Any thoughts?

No. He was placed into an impossible situation last year, beginning with training camp and DW's insistence on splitting reps with Fiedler.
It was made worse when the focal point of the offense RW quit before training camp even started and it was exacerbated by the inability to find a real offensive coordinator.
I don't think Peyton Manning or Tom Brady could have succeeded their first year as starters in that scenario either.
I have defended Feeley only because I don't think he has had the proper opportunity to show what he can do. If he plays poorly this year, I will be the first to say the team needs to move on and find someone better.

Ok he had the cards stacked against him but if he can't beat out Gus in practise then I don't think he should be leading the team and also its his year to prove the NFL wrong so if he gets the nod and chokes no more excuses for him no more nothing.

Just to note im not an AJ Feely hater I just think its time for him to prove his worth or move out of the way of the building of a dynasty

The team as a whole played better towards the end of last year, and I can't wait to see A.J. with a whole year under his belt and some real coaching.

I cannot give an honest answer to that question. THe suckiness of the team was so widespread it is hard to give discredit where dicredit is due.

I don't know if AJ is going to get that WHOLE year that he needs. If for some reason Saban associates AJ with Spielman, I think AJ is not going to get the chance to struggle through tuff times. And we all know AJ will have those moments when he can't resist linebackers!

I think he has potential to be a decent to good qb, kind of like a Jake Delhomme. Feeley definitely has the tools, but I think he will still make mistakes while he learns. I'm not sure how patient Saban will be with him, or if Saban is sold on him at all for that matter.

It sure would make things easier if Feeley panned out. Then the team could look to rebuild its secondary and other areas of need (DT, LT) come next offseason.

I think if we're lucky he'll be Fiedler. Either way I expect we'll draft a QB high next year.

NO, AJ is not that bad...AJ has a tremendous arm, at times last year he looked amazing in the 2:00 minute offense...last season AJ had no running game, had no protection from his offensive line...all in all its gonna be AJ's job to lose IMO

I believe you mean (and really hope you mean) 54.2%. .542% would be my comp percentage in a good season...

That game where he threw 5 picks (who was that against in week 14) almost made me into an AJ hater, but I still support the guy. I think he could be good because I feel he has a very strong arm and some of the needed intangables. He just needs to make better decisions, which should be easier this year with a little more time in the pocket. I also don't like his scrambling abilities. He needs to get rid of the ball rather than running for his life.
