Is everyone here down on Clay?

I think he could be good. However, if you were trying to spread teams out, could it hurt to have him out there at FB, line up say a Fleener and a Fasano at TE, and then still have Bush and your recievers out there? It would be another guy the other team would have to account for.

Agreed.

Lining up Fleener, Clay, Marshall, & Bush in a variety of spots w/ Thomas @ TB could present some interesting match ups.

Then, consider motion & shifts...

Add a Ladarius Green to go with Clay and you will have two nightmare match up issues for the defense.
Green is the guy im salivating over. Hes a bit light, but hes explosive. He reminds me of finley, he just has to add a few lbs, imo.

really like clay. clay and someone like fleener would be sick.

Not down on Clay. I am down with OPP- Hey, you know me.:rimshot:

As good a pick as you could hope for in the 6th round. Good pass catching fullback/ back up tight-end, kinda reminds me of Delanie Walker in San Fran.

the reason I asked if they were down on him is the fact that some many people here wants us to draft a TE early in the 2nd round but I guess they mostly just feel like we need 2 top TE's and I can understand that.

Ozzy rules!!

Well, he's not a "True" TE to begin with.

He's a very nice weapon to have, and especially with where we picked this guy, another late great find

i'd prefer fleener over clay from a pure tight end standpoint. but I'm not dealing or cutting clay if we bring in another TE... he's a good weapon that came on the cheap... keep him. he can be utilitzed.

Clay is H back material - and very good H back material at that - we still need a true TE - Fasano would excel as no 2 TE because he takes half the plays off anyways

I don't like Fleener, I don't think he's the seam TE we need. I think he has very similar attributes to Fasano. I want to draft Ladarius Green out of Louisiana Lafayette, a little underweight but big time potential.

He runs a 4'6 but only weighs 230 right now. In the offseason alone with weight training he could probably gain around 10 pounds to get to 240. Within another year he'll be in the 250-260 range and I think he has big time potential.

Well, the only flaw with that logic, is, Fasano is a good inline blocker. If we bring in another TE, he won't be nearly as much a blocker as a big-tall weapon down the middle.
