Is Feeley gonna make the team?

The thing that bothered me most about Feeley is that he looked virtually unphased on the sidelines. Laughing, doing interviews, its as if he assumed the job was his and that no one could take that from him.
I'd be happy if he was cut just to make him realize that he isnt as good as he thinks

If he could be more relaxed while playing it might help him. But Saban's answer to competition for the #@ spot looks like he's describing Feeley...physical skills, but no intangibles.

Saban quote from the homepage : ''I think there's a competition on our team at every position as to who ends up where,'' Saban said when asked if there is a battle for the No. 2 quarterback spot. ``Execution, judgment, instincts. All those things contribute to guys making good plays, and big plays. It's not all about ability."

If feeley doens't improve and is moved behind Sage what do you do? Here's the dillema. The potential Berlin has displayed he could be the 3rd QB. Does feeley get cut if he isn't the 2nd stringer?

I think he does get cut... the other guys are just performing better this preseason.

As a coach, you'd really hate to cut a QB with a rating of 27.7 in Saturday's game.

Let's face it, the Fish are still paying for the Wanny/Spielman fiasco and a 2nd round pick was flushed on a 3rd string backup.

I sometimes can't believe this board. His 27.7 rating was ONE PRESEASON QUARTER playing with a bunch of guys who won't make the team and a bunch of guys who won't play a down this season if they do.

If you want to make your decision based on that, go right ahead, but I really think there's more to it than that.

I've bee pulling for Feeley but, it seems like he just doesn't have IT. I hope I'm wrong but I feel that he's done in a phins uniform.

It will be interesting, if Sage beats him out for the 2nd spot, can you have a 3rd string making that much?? Just the fact that we are talking about this shows you where he is going. The man has to grab the bull by the horns and have a good outing against a tough Steeler team.

Exactly my thinking here. I just think we keep Feeley on the roster as a backup. Restructure that ridiculous contract of course. He is a solid backup, but nothing more until he proves me otherwise, which I hope that he does.

I read all the threads yesterday about him being cut, but didn't really believe them. Not it seems as though there is a strong possibility. Would Saban really cut Feeley knowing he just wasted a 2nd rounder on him?

Saban is going to give Feeley every chance to start, let alone stay on the team, but if he fails, Saban is not the type to keep someone just because he cost the team a 2nd round. As for my guess, Feeley will still be on this team when it is all set and done, the big question people should be asking is who will be #3, Sage or an amazing Brock Berlin...The way they both have played, I wish I could see both starting against 1st team defences, but there is not enough time for that.:(

EXACTLY!!!! What the hell is AJ Feeley laughing and smiling about on the sidelines? Maybe Heather has promised him something after the game is over?? I dont get what he is so happy about...he has sucked.

Feeley has to earn the type of hype some of you are giving him. He needs to develop in the next 2 games.. he had half of last season.. He was the leader going into camp. He is where he is because he is desevering of it. Play better... get the accolades... suck.... and.... where you know where Im going.

I still have yet to see what ANY of you are talking about with Feeley laughing on the sidelines. I remember him laughing and congratulating Sage after his TD pass in Jax, and then he was laughing and smiling in Canton because Steve Young came over to him and introduced himself, other than that, the only face I've seen from Feeley on the sidelines is frustration.

After Feeley was brought out in Game 1 against the Bears they had the camera on him and he was smiling and laughing...and he did not do anything in the Bears game to be happy about.

But I think that was when Steve Young came up to him, before that he was walking around in pain I believe.

I know, what I meant was would Saban cut him knowing a 2nd was wasted.

Some of you refuse to get over the idea that a 2nd was wasted. Who gives a damn anymore? If he is a bust, HE IS A BUST. Come on. Saban is not forced to start anyone because "he was traded for a 2nd pick". If AJ ends up gone from this team, ITS TIME TO MOVE ON AND FORGET ABOUT A STUPID PICK.
