Is jason taylor,zach thomas,sam madsion,patrick surtain

No none of them have shown they are hall of fame players as of yet.

They have to win a title to get in IMO.

I'm not being ignorant. I never said it wasn't Madison's fault he got beat deep. The reason we folded late in the games was our coach. Our defense was always on the field in the second half. I don't care who they are out on the field, they're going to get tired thus resulting in folding.

I've got to disagree our D has always folded. They've been folding late in the season for as long as this group has been together. Miami's D has been one of the most over rated units in the NFL for years IMO.

Why have we always folded though? Because we practically never had more Time of Possession then the other team.
 
Zach and JT seem most likely to me. I don't think Madison/Surtain have had THAT remarkable a career. Time will tell though right?
 
Zach - With another 2-3 good years
JT - probably with another 2-3 good years
Sam - see above
Surt - continue the trend.

All these guys are still in the early 30s. they have a chance but they need to continue to play at a great level and all except Madison are coming off their worst season in quite a while.
 
You also have to look at the other players that are playing thier position. People like Ray Lewis.....that will make it harder for Zach to get in . Voters look at that. I dont see to many dominant DEs today so I think JT has a good shot if he keeps up his production.


As far as them not winning a SB. Thats stupid. Do you know how many great players have never won a SB. Barry Sanders....Dan Marino.....

Yes and with a few good years under Saban they can overhaul their image as a group that tires out late in the year and one that isnt overly physical. I think the D players who do more intimidating receive more hype as far as getting in to the HOF is concerned. The HOF isnt strictly stats enough.
 
a super bowl ring will solidify thomas and taylor. so let's go ahead and get that out of the way this season.

those are two of the greatest players ever at their position. taylor and thomas aren't...besides, how many steelers from the 70s teams are in the HoF that are only there because of the championships?

At this point I believe so, but like Nub said, Madison and Surtain proabably wont be first ballot ala Dan Marino.

keep in mind, these 4 guys, our 4 core defensive players over the years have been notoriously known for choking in big pressure situations... a defense like this shouldnt give up 60 points to jacksonville, a defense like this shouldn't give up 14 points to the patriots in the last 3 minutes when we're smelling playoffs.

You make a good point and these reporters who vote remember those games, it is nice to see not everybody jumps right on the bandwagon, I love to watch these guys play but you have to be realistic.
 
and from the standpoint of being unpopular with the yankee media i dont think our guys stand a chance in hell to get into the hall because our team 's popularity has really droped. what this team needs is a few big , really big wins in order to get some consideration.

remember espn hates our guts and they will stop at nothing to keep our guys out of the hall of fame. I am hoping that zach and jason can get into the hof but we need some good victorys to make this happen. as far as sam madison he needs to pick up his numbers at least in the no. of ints.
