From a financial standpoint, Cog was suspended and will get 4 weeks of his pay, and then Miami will very likely cut him, avoiding paying his last 4 weeks, which he may file a grievance on.

Martin is much more interesting. He "may have decided" that football was not for him, as per Stephen A Smith. Being a very smart guy, with a very smart family, he "may" have decided to set himself for one hell of a law suit vs the NFL, Dolphins, and Cog. His lost money would pale in comparison to the law suit, with the law on Human Resources in his back pocket.

Nothing but pure speculation on my part BUT, would that not be something to see? The smart guy taking some abuse, and fighting it on his terms to collect MILLIONS. Why save a voice mail for a year?

He would KICK Cog's ASS overall, and then some.

Something to consider. He chops Cog off for millions, makes millions, and has the last laugh.

Again, NO FACT, just some fun speculation.
 
Well he was smart to put this on mental health because I am not so sure Miami can cut him. He could claim ADA and potentially FMLA and also have the backing of the NFLPA and former players. A mess for sure and you can bet some kind of precedent will come from this in the NFL moving forward.
 
Martin blows and is fleecing the dolphins just like how parcells did. what a snake.
 
Martin and his Mommy likely hatched this plan in the offseason. He was dismal in his rookie season. He knew he couldn't cut it.
That said, once his Mommy heard about Incog and his hijinks, it was easy to set this whole thing up.
If this should go forward, and I think it will, I hope the NFL, The Fins, and Incog take it to a jury.
Martin will have his Mommy sitting with him. On the other isle with Incog will be team mates, NFL brass, and star players.
It would make a great Perry Mason episode..lol
 
Reports said he was suspended WITHOUT pay, which is how conduct detrimnetal the team usually goes. They will keep him on the roster for the entire 4 weeks because if they cut him they will have to pay his 4M salary.

What plan? I suppose they conned RI to call JM phone and threaten JM and JM mother right? As I said in another thread, I find it amazing that some people are blaming JM more for keeping these VM;s than they RI for actually sending them. Wow.
 
What tort could Martin actually claim that would result in millions in damages?
 
What do you mean? If it so happens there was harrassment and Martin sues, he is entitles to punitive damages. The attorneys would come up with an amount depending on severity.

You may wish to check the Overall effect.
 
What do you mean? It was just reported last night that he was suspended without pay and if the Dolphisn cut him he is owed his 4M but if they dont they will have to pay him nothing because of conduct detrimental to the team. Did something change from then till now?

I don't think martin felt threatened...the more I keep seeing and reading about it this scenario is a possibility
 
Unless Martin can prove that the phins FO was told or knew about the behaviors, he has no case against the organization. He could go after Incog., but how much would he really expect from him and be willing to go to court over ?
