Vernon was slated to play RT and was drafted at a spot where NFL teams expect to get quality RTs. Gallery was drafted at a spot where NFL teams expect to get PRO-BOWL LTs. It sounds like you might now know much about the difference in the required talent and overall responsibility between LT and RT. There will NEVER be a RT drafted in the top 10 of the draft -- the position just isn't as important. Alex Barron may be playing RT for the Rams, but I guarantee you they're slating him to play LT at some point (and he still wasn't a top-10 pick anyway). In other words, LT is probably one of the top-3 most important positions on the field, right up there with QB and CB. The fact that Gallery isn't even PLAYING LT in his SECOND year is a huge disappointment.arsenal said:first off he was drafted number 2, haha... secondly just cause another guy has a good camp and plays LT and you play right doesn't mean you suck... ahem, do we not have the same situation right now with vernon? haha... its vernons second year and hes starting at RT...
im not saying gallery is the best lineman in the league right now, but hes still just 1 game into his second season, dont appoint him as a bust yet because the tough NE D got a lot of pressure on collins...
And the fact that Gallery was drafted #2 rather than #4 overall just adds to my argument.
