It was make or break time for the QB... Epic Fail

Henne does suck.. all this talk about his stats are useless. He is a good QB inside the 20's but in the redzone he is one of the worst in the league, if not thee worst. Im done listening to the homers trying to convince me otherwise.. Henne sucks and Sparano sucks.

There were several plays where Henne looked to Marshal but he was just not open.

Then Henne needs to find another receiver. Many red zone passing TD's are not scored on initial playcalls, where the ball is thrown to a wide open receiver running the route that was called. They are scored by a QB buying time, scanning the field, evading the rush (but not running past the line of scrimmage) and finding that guy coming back across the field who has slipped away from the defense or found an opening. This is what Henne does not do. He does not have the skill.

Gates needs to be on the field more. Our fastest player and he is only in on maybe 3 offensive plays per game. Classic fail by our vaunted awesome OC

Wouldn't mind Henne as a backup QB. In fact, I think he'd be a solid backup. Nothing more though. Certainly not. Anyone who thinks he's a starting QB in this league is a flat out idiot.

Gates is raw, and on the one play where he could have made a difference the DB easily got position on him so he was well out of bounds. WR is one of the hardest positions on the field to come in and produce, and I see nothing in Gates to say that he should be out there ahead of Hartline, Bess, and Marshall, who are all playing well (Marshall has had some so-so plays, but he still pulls in far too many catches and is too much of a matchup mightmare to pull off the field, not mentioning his ego). Hartline is a speed receiver and he's been plenty productive right now.

Yes, he is raw, but his speed is what we could use. Even if he gets behind the secondary, and we throw an imcomplete pass, it will keep the defense honest. Hartline did have a great game today!

too funny Henne was FAR from the problem today dumb threads people claiming it was.... How about handing bush the rock when DT had done nothing but gain positive yards all day. While reggie continuosly did jack..or carpenters missed FG or the D sucking again

Well my point is that right now, Hartline is showing capable of doing the things that Gates would do. He has beat multiple teams for big pass plays. If his speed and apparent playmaking ability isn't drawing the coverage, then we shouldn't put Gates out there just for the threat of speed.

The biggest thing I wonder, and this may be more of a QB choice thing than a playcalling thing, is why are we not going to Hartline more when coverage is clearly focusing on the opposite side of the field?

Because the Qb you're saying is not the problem is actually the one causing this offense to fail to score points, which is causing us to lose games. Here's a newsflash; you could have a QB make half the plays of Henne, get to the red zone half as frequently, rack up half the yards of Henne, and score more points than him just by converting in the red zone. Don't believe me?

Colt McCoy was 19-39, watched his defense get dominated in TOP, didn't have a consistent running game because his running back was out, and he won the game. Why? Because he scored two TD's, and didn't falter in the few opportunities he had.

And forgive me, but every time I see a QB get the ball in the other team's territory to start a drive, and only needing to get 10-15 yards to get in FG range, and yet he didn't complete a single pass, that's the QB's fault.

Yea Henne may not be Miami's biggest problem, but he is the main contributor to our biggest woe...redzone scores. He doesn't play well when it counts. He just doesn't have it. Damn shame, I was pulling for him.

For those of you saying Henne was ok today, here is a stat for you:

1st half - 14 for 19, 191 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT.
2nd half - 5 for 10, 64 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT.

Just because Henne can play 1 half of decent football doesn't make it ok. His 2nd half performance is unacceptable.

ok well forgive me sirspud if I'm not retarted enough to think henne is the only one on the field last I checked there are 10 others on O and 11 on D who didn't hold up there end he was far from the problem today and if you don't see get that then by all means carry on with your nonsense

That's pretty much it. Henne is not the worst player on this roster, but he is the number one contributor to the thing that has clearly cost this team to lose games. The two aren't one and the same, and that's what Henne fans need to realize.

I've seen QB's who weren't the worst player on their poorly playing team, and yet when they were replaced the team starting winning games by not having that weakness there.

I keep telling you guys, its a coaching issue. There is a general malaise on this team where no one is playing well. I've been watching football a long time and I've seen good coaches (Shula, Bellichick etc) take so so talent and have them over achieve. They play smart, fundamentally sound football.
This current Dolphin team is the antithesis of those types of teams.
This team quit on Sparano at the end of the 2010 season and I have seen no evidence to suggest that things have changed. I do agree (much to my disappointment) that Henne is missing a critical intangible trait. He doesn't have it in crunch time.
New HC coach and franchise QB (and a RT) would solve most of the problems
