And I'm saying that he's not in the right state of mind to make that decision. He's drunk and made a point to mention it. He'll wake up tomorrow a little late, probably hungover and think to himself "**** Canton, why is everything so bright?"

Or he may wake up in the morning and say... you know what I need to experience this, just once. Also he stated he was "half-drunk"... to me that means tipsy. There is a very good chance he could be healthy and wake up ,fresh of mind, and still motivated to make the trip. It all depends on the individual. Not eveyone has the same reactions to substances in the same quantities. There is alot of biochemistry involved as well.

I have made the trip on I-70 many times and also have gone through Nebraska (equally bad), but I could go through most of this at night and miss all the "scenery," although you can still detect the feed lots.

:rofl3:

Who would have thought a "half-drunk" post would lead to biochemistry and comparison of highways.
Whatever dude, I personally wouldn't do it but if you feel up to it and it's not too long of a drive, go for it. There can never bee to many Fin fans at Dan's induction.

 You haven't driven up and down Florida. Makes you want to gouge your own eyes out. 600 miles of the same damn thing, unless you drive up A1A.

:rofl3: Lucky for me that is where I did most of my driving then. ;) I also enjoy, I believe, I-19 with a mix of I-75 on the Gulf cost as well. The Aviary preseve near Dade city(granted a bit off of I-75) is beautiful.

ok...now i'm feeling the pressure. :) To be honest, i was looking at all the internet coverage of the induction and was thinking about going...it was just a thought....As you all know, the Dolphins (and Marino in particular) mean a lot to all of us....I just wish i could have been there....i definitely wasn't going to drive drunk.

Heh,heh... Well for me it is a 45 minute drive to Canton. I was just trying to make a point. Yes this tread has gone many different directions but, you can still follow the flow if you read everything carefully. ;)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the induction. I can't wait! I envy you, being down where my heart wants to be! Go Fins!

I tell you what is a scary drive....going across I-10 in the bayous of Louisianna in the middle of the summer with 100 degree heat, and 100% humidity.... going across the pilings worrying that you car is gonna fall into the swamps, and you are gonna become gator food.

:rofl3: I need to experience that atleast once in my life. I have been meaning to make the trip down there but, I always seem to get side-tracked. I still plan on making it to Mardi Gras at some point, I just hope I am not too old and feeble to enjoy it. :D

Nothing against Louisianna....I just meant that there are places where you are out in the middle of nowhere, no phones, no truck stops or gas stations....but I do love that food especially the spicey shrimp and gumbo, and the music and the nice cajun accents.....I liked seeing the mist coming up off the fields in the morning as I was driving down the road listening to zydeco music...it's like being in a different country. :)

No doubt. I drove from Fort Lauderdale to Chapel Hill a few years ago... OMG, what a long, boring, mind-numbing experience that was. The only thing interesting about it was me finding out how fast a rental Chevy Lumina would run. (107 and the ecm throttles it back). I managed what was supposed to be a 13 hour trip in about 10 hours, but almost **** a brick when I passed a Georgia state trooper (sitting in the median) about a mile from the GA / SC border, going about 107. :(
