I didn't realize it was possible to secure a bye. Up until now I've been hedging on the Fins winning out and the Pats smashing the Ravens next week. OTOH, if the Patriots tank, I'm perfectly comfortable with seeing the Chiefs in the divisional round.

We control our own destiny, but if the Lions win tomorrow night, Miami will have a clinching season for Week 16.

If the Ravens lose tonight and then to the Pats next week and we beat the Bills we clinch a playoff spot.

We win out and Ravens win out, we're in with the Bengals missing.

If Baltimore wins out they are 10-6 if Cincinnati wins out they are 11-5. That makes us odd man out losing tie break with ravens.

It's not only in our hands if someone else has to lose. It is possible to be 10-6 and not make the playoffs.

And actually, we are alive for the 2nd seed as well. I mean the probability of the Ratriots losing out AND us winning out AND the Ravens losing at least one game is like 1 out of infinity, but it does feel good to just know that if those things happened we would be the second seeded team in the playoffs with a first round bye and at leats one home playoff game.
