It's time to start rebuilding mode....

I for one, am not about to give up. And to say the FO gave up a couple of months ago is crazy. The FO traded Ogun to get a top receiver opposite Chambers. The FO states they are looking to upigrade the running game without paying a high price. Why don't you give up on your significant other now and start planning for next year. You're not going to because of your love for that person. If you really love the Dolphins, you won't give on them.

They got another receiver to bolster a passing game that will be mediocre due to no protection from a pitiful offensive line.

They are looking to upgrade the running game by picking up another back that will do nothing behind this front 5 who can't develop holes.

I would give up on a significant other if I knew there was no chance for a future with that person....in that case, my long term future is best served by moving on and seeking out a woman who would provide me with a great relationship....rather than hanging around with someone who is not compatible and provides no future.

The Dolphins present a similar circumstance....if you like futility, lets keep things the same. If you want a great future, lets start preparing for it immediately.

come on man you people make me nuts we went 10-6 last year with less we have 11 starters on our big d back and added more talent. our o-line will get better ricky only had 3.5 yrd a carry konrad looks better and faster. we have two very very good wr and miami will pick up a rb this week now specal teams sam keeps getting hurt they will probley use fred russell but this team is in the running but to say the bills will win the div is crazy.and were going 5-11 is just as what is our defence going to stay home on sunday

I think you are being oversimplistic.I dont like the direction this org is going either but lets just wait until it all plays out.We cannot do anything about this year except rally around our team.

Anyway it doesnt matter what we think. Its Wayne who has to decide which way to take the team.So send your complaints or wishes to him and not through the Dolphin FO.

I understand that letters to Wayne or Jones do not get to them.Thats why they are so out of touch with the situation.

So who do you think is rerouting the mail? Just think of who has the most to lose

So I as understand it, you are unhappy with this team right now and want to give up and find something better. And by statement of seeking out another woman, are you planning on seeking out another team? If you plan on sticking with the Dolphins, don't b*tch and be happy. If you're not happy, find another tweam that will make you happy.

if we still had ricky williams, we would all seriously be talking about the superbowl.
one player is not the difference between a 3-13 team and a superbowl winner.

I disagree completely....an optimistic look at this line was why some people were talking super bowl. However, the play by this unit in the preseason has shown them to be as bad (if not worse) than last years unit. The failure to significantly address the most glaring weakness on this team would have probably led to another 8-8 season (perhaps 9-7) if Ricky was around.

At least with a franchise back, you could develop some running game as he could endure the hits behind the line and frequencly gain 3-4 yards (as he did throughout 2003). Without a franchise back, the running game is hopeless...as is this team.

I don't see any more than 4-5 wins with this team and those games will all be won completely with defense. This line prevents the offense from doing anything significant to win ballgames.

The draft is overrated. The first New England team that won the super bowl was put together by free agents for the most part (Cox, T-Buck, Izzo, A.Smith, Patten, ..etc)

Tampa when they won theirs was also a team built via free agency (Keyshawn, Pittman, B.Johnson, Rice...etc)

While you need to draft well, you can build a winner through free agency and just sprinkle in guys from the draft. Not the other way around like most believe.

I disagree. The draft is the real key to a teams success. The championship Bucs had a solid base with players they had drafted like Alstott, Dunn, Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, etc. The Miami championship teams in the '70's had drafted Csonka, Kiick, Greise, Anderson Morris, Stanfill, etc. They brought in guys like Buoniconti, Fernandez, Little to round out the roster. While it does take both free agent and draft picks, Miami learned the had way in 1995 that a bunch of 'has been' free agents are no guarantee of a title. Why were most fans happy when Jimmy took over for Shula? Because he was thought to be an expert evaluator of talent and proved to be pretty good, defensively at least.

As I posted last nite in the game thread, this team is lacking so much at nearly every offensive position that an 8-8 record would be an extreme overacheivement. Realistically, this season will probably end with a record of around 5-11 if the best team possible is played every week.

I think it's time to give up on the 2004 campaign already (it appears our front office did that many months ago...but I don't believe it was intentional) and start working to rebuild this team.

To start that process.....

*Don't give up any draft picks or young talent to acquire another scrap heap running back or reciever at this point....save these building blocks of the future to help bring this team back to the top as soon as possible.

*Consider trading a few of the veterans who may only have one or two years left in the league. Someone like Madison may be able to net us a second or third round draft pick at this point and salary cap saved next year could hopefully be used to help us address some gaping needs with upcoming talent.

*Commit as much playing time as possible to some of the young players on this team including the rookies. Let's try to "season" them as quickly as possible and find out how much talent these guys have....those that have none can find a new place to earn a paycheck after this season.

I know that moves like this may make us even worse for this campaign ahead and could lead to an embarrasing record of something like 2-14. However, I'd rather do that and have the components in place to rebuild quickly....than to endure several years of mediocrity (or worse).

Anyone who thinks this team is playoff caliber this year is truly looking through rose colored glasses. Anyone who thinks it has a chance to win the Super Bowl is blind.

The commitment to rebuild needs to begin as soon as possible....not after the season.

Giving up on your team before they even play a game is the defination of of a quitter. So see you next year then Mr. fair weather fan....

Whatever, man.

Do you also take IV's out of hospital patients' arms for fun just as they're getting better? Do you take things from children just to hear them cry?

Go be a Bills fan or something. You're talking about the Miami Dolphins, not the f*****g Arizona Cardinals here.

It's time to give up already? Whats wrong with you? How can you give up already when the season has not even started yet? You want to have no faith thats fine but dont try and tell the real fans that this season is over before it even begins!
It's called "not being a real fan obviously". Yes we have some rebuilding to do but it is FAR from time to give up the season! DANG DEAN SIU!!!

Ahahahahahah!

Give the guy a break and quit breaking his balls. He is a realist and understands that the team BLOWS. Feeley has been pathetic, along with Travis Minor. That would be okay if you guys had a solid O-Line, but they couldn't push back a line of senior citizens. I feel sorry for Chambers because he still won't be able to reach his 1,000 yard mark with the poor excuse of an offense around him.

The only ray of hope the fins have is the defense being totally dominant (ala ravens d). Despite his age, Zach Thomas is still effective, Jason Taylor will be the usual QB terror, and the secondary will still prove to be a pest in the passing game. However, it is still a far cry from the dominance required to carry a lackluster offense on its back and march to the playoffs.

Prediction: 6-10 season (not considering injuries that may happen to the fins or their opponents).

Absolutely. Listen to the Jets' fan guys.

Because if there's two things that Jet's fans know intimately, it's teams that blow & rebuilding years.

Why do you think you know so much about football. THis is preseason we are still not game planning. You sound like a fool saying things like this. we might not be the best team in the league but making such a dumb prediction like this is dumb as you can get.
