It's time to start rebuilding mode....

Why do you think you know so much about football. THis is preseason we are still not game planning. You sound like a fool saying things like this. we might not be the best team in the league but making such a dumb prediction like this is dumb as you can get.
a "fool" is giving him a compliment.

I could see if we were like 2 & 6 and it was week 9..

All you people who think you know it all before we actually played 1 reg season game are just a bunch of whiney GIRLS with no BALLS

Absolutely. Listen to the Jets' fan guys.

Because if there's two things that Jet's fans know intimately, it's teams that blow & rebuilding years.

It is so true. Consider us sages in that area.

Give the guy a break and quit breaking his balls. He is a realist and understands that the team BLOWS. Feeley has been pathetic, along with Travis Minor. That would be okay if you guys had a solid O-Line, but they couldn't push back a line of senior citizens. I feel sorry for Chambers because he still won't be able to reach his 1,000 yard mark with the poor excuse of an offense around him.

The only ray of hope the fins have is the defense being totally dominant (ala ravens d). Despite his age, Zach Thomas is still effective, Jason Taylor will be the usual QB terror, and the secondary will still prove to be a pest in the passing game. However, it is still a far cry from the dominance required to carry a lackluster offense on its back and march to the playoffs.

Prediction: 6-10 season (not considering injuries that may happen to the fins or their opponents).
Wow, wut preseason games were u watching....im gonna guess NO DOLPHIN GAMES! Feeley has not looked the least bit pathetic. Hes actaully looked very poised, and clearly has a great arm.

And if were 6-10, ur obviously not gonna b much better right. Your RB is 88 years old, and is clearly on the decline, ur OL isnt dominant enuff to make him look good, and ur defence sucks.

This website is going downhill b/c of idiots like you. I'm glad you wasted your time writing such a horrible piece. Congrats!

I have an idea for you. There is no point watching this year since we are "rebuilding". So why dont you just turn off your TV for the next year "looking forward to next year coming". Hey thanks for the laugh though.

As I posted last nite in the game thread, this team is lacking so much at nearly every offensive position that an 8-8 record would be an extreme overacheivement. Realistically, this season will probably end with a record of around 5-11 if the best team possible is played every week.

I think it's time to give up on the 2004 campaign already (it appears our front office did that many months ago...but I don't believe it was intentional) and start working to rebuild this team.

To start that process.....

*Don't give up any draft picks or young talent to acquire another scrap heap running back or reciever at this point....save these building blocks of the future to help bring this team back to the top as soon as possible.

*Consider trading a few of the veterans who may only have one or two years left in the league. Someone like Madison may be able to net us a second or third round draft pick at this point and salary cap saved next year could hopefully be used to help us address some gaping needs with upcoming talent.

*Commit as much playing time as possible to some of the young players on this team including the rookies. Let's try to "season" them as quickly as possible and find out how much talent these guys have....those that have none can find a new place to earn a paycheck after this season.

I know that moves like this may make us even worse for this campaign ahead and could lead to an embarrasing record of something like 2-14. However, I'd rather do that and have the components in place to rebuild quickly....than to endure several years of mediocrity (or worse).

Anyone who thinks this team is playoff caliber this year is truly looking through rose colored glasses. Anyone who thinks it has a chance to win the Super Bowl is blind.

The commitment to rebuild needs to begin as soon as possible....not after the season.
um no

Don't worry Dean Siu, you still have your "Hall of Fame" QB in Fiedler to carry the team. He's worth at least 9 wins alone right? Now you haven't backed down on that claim have you?

I think saying this team needs to rebuild is crazy.
This team still has too much core talent and potential to give up on.

Rebuilding is when a team purges much of it's roster and starts all over again.
No way is that a good idea here.

The defense will continue to be good IMO.
Many of the core guys will remain and there are some very promising players waiting in the wings to take spots in Poole, Bell, Pope to name a few.

The OL is young and we've brought in some players with potential that may not bloom fully this year but should at least gel into a good line next year.
WR's, :D We have potentially one of the most exciting WR crew in the league for next year if D. Boston comes back full speed. Chambers, Boston and Booker? That's a very nice looking lineup.
QB if Feeley works out to be as talented as Wolf and Speilman think he is than we'll be in great shape. Really only needing to address the RB position in FA or draft. If Feeley dosen't work out then we need t0 adress two BIG positions. Still even if Feeley dosen't work out the team is in a great position for next year and in NO WAY in need of rebuilding.

I also feel that we will be able to get a number 1 pick for Ricky.
Ricky will do a 180 degree turn, work out like a madman and become a poster boy for the NFL when he comes to realize what he has done to himself. He'll play this charade long enough to entice a team to give him another shot simply because of his immense talent.

Call me crazy but teams won't be able to ignore the instant success Ricky's talent could bring to a team...... especially the Raiders.

Add 2 number 1 picks to the mix next year along with an almost entirely rebuilt team and your going to tell me we should scratch it all and rebuild?

Give me a break, the guy is quitting on the team before the first snap. Screw him....

I don't care if we're 0-6... knowing there's still a chance we can win 10 in a row and make playoffs I don't give up. It's possible. Anything's possible. I'm not thinking rebuilding mode before we have seen 1 single game of the regular season. The #1 reason why everyone is talking rebuilding mode.. The #1 reason everyone is saying we won't make playoffs and be a 5-11 team is because Ricky left us. Well Ricky didn't take us to the playoffs. And having Ricky wasn't the most positive thing for the fact we based our whole offense around him. We can't do that with Minor or Morris or anyone else which is why this year it HAS TO BE and WILL be a TEAM EFFORT instead of Ricky responsible for like 48,49, or 50% of our offense. If it's week Week 15, 16, or 17 and we're like 4-10, 5-11, 5-9, I can see where you're coming from. But to already say we're probably going 5-11 without one game being played.. I don't think like that. And I was shocked when I heard a lot of people here we're giving up on us when we lost to the Texans.. You can't give up already. Brady could get injured, McNair could get injured, some players might have breakout years, our O-Line could improve, our D could be #1 in the league.. You just don't know yet. I do agree with you about not trading draft picks because that's not helping us. And I also agree that we shouldn't trade for a RB right now. Overall, I'm pretty optomistic about the Phins playing better than the media is saying. As for playoffs.. that's a long shot I admit.. but I think it could be achieved.

wow, very good post.

If the coaching staff and front office believed that this was not a rebuilding year (as many of you did 2 weeks)....let's hope they believe that now and use the rest of the season to develop talent for the future. This season is going to blow irregardless...lets give maximum playing time to young talent and let them develop (or prove they suck in which case we can send them packing). I'd rather view this than suffer through a year of our "top talent" only winning 3-4 games maximum.

WHAT in the... i told you so is this?

there is a still a shot at a wild card

if we go 0-3 or 0-4 then maybe

the afc is not as strong as thought in preseason

AFC Winners:
East:
Pats

North:
Ravens

South:
Colts

West:
Broncos

Wild Card Contenders:
Jets
Titans
Chiefs

Jets look solid
Titans arent what they used to be
Chiefs, right where we are, still have no D, there WRs arent that great and just Double Gonzalez

The only lock there is maybe the Jets
9-7 has a good shot of makin the playoffs

Our nine wins:
steelers
2 bills
cards
niners
browns
1 jets
1 pats (thats right im saying that)
seattle after the bye

you heard it here first (well maybe not first but this season is NOT over)

still a week or two premature for rebuilding

The draft is overrated. The first New England team that won the super bowl was put together by free agents for the most part (Cox, T-Buck, Izzo, A.Smith, Patten, ..etc)

Tampa when they won theirs was also a team built via free agency (Keyshawn, Pittman, B.Johnson, Rice...etc)

While you need to draft well, you can build a winner through free agency and just sprinkle in guys from the draft. Not the other way around like most believe.
Dude are you on crack??? Tampa drafted Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, Ronde Barber etc....the frickin backbone of their Superbowl team. Oh and I guess Brady, Law, Branch, Bruschi etc etc...had nothing to do with those two Superbowls either. And I suppose Thomas, Taylor, Madison, Chambers, Surtain, Konrad, etc etc......Are just some stiffs we picked up.
