I've seen it all now!!

So let me get this straight....the NFL will allow a defender pull someone down by the hair that sticks out of a helmut but if you grab a runner by the back of his jersey that's worth 15yds. Worthless rule.....I know that the horse-collar tackle has hurt some players but no more than other types of hits has. This won't protect anyone...just pi$$ off the fans with some BS personal fouls.:yell:

What's the diffference in that and pulling Ricky's hair 2 years ago ? It's a BS rule.

The difference is he can cut his hair and if players don't like there hair pulled they need to cut it

I think the new rule is ******ed. There is alot going on in a game of football and it is played at a very high speed. If thats the easiest way to bring a guy down then so be it, its not a dirty move or a cheap shot. Its just the easiest way to bring a guy down from behind. And the worst part is, that its so subjective to a refs call. Whats the difference between ripping a guy down from his jersey from behind or his shoulder pads?

Just put flags on them and get it over with..............

They have made it to where you can't play defense at all in the NFL. This horse collar tackle crap may just be the worst rule I've ever seen.

I totally agree.

I know the NFL wants to see points and offense because it sells tickets (I personally prefer GREAT defense but that is just me).

The new "pass interference rule" last year is a joke and now this "horse collar" crap comes along...

Lets see...defenses can't touch the Q.B. at all after the ball is gone (even if the guy is in mid stride he is supposed to break the laws of physics and change direction in mid-air), you can't even bump a reciever after five yards and now you can't tackle the guy by grabbing his jersey around the neck area...

BUT, the offensive line can chop block and take guys knees out, the recievers can push off all the time, the offensive lineman get away with holding on every play....

This is a collision sport...I think these rules are turning it into a contact sport and the scales have been weighed FAR TO MUCH towards the offense.
