Being a rookie is hard whether or not you're injured. Not everyone can take it, and that doesn't automatically mean you're "weak" and/or doomed to fail. Look at Bob Kuechenberg. He quit during his rookie camp with the Eagles and had to get back to the NFL from semi-pro ball. All he did is play for like five Super Bowl teams over the next 14 or so seasons, including ordering his doctors to drill out the marrow from a broken forearm so he could play in the Super Bowl against the only defensive tackle ever named league MVP, Alan Page. And Kuechenberg dominated him.
I wasn't a fan of Taylor out of Boise State but this is one of those things where the wannabe internet tough guys come out and make idiots out of themselves. Let the guy make his mark this year. It's not like rookie corners usually play well anyway. It's one of the positions with the steepest learning curves in the NFL. Unfortunately the nature of his injury probably prevented him from getting the kind of reps that will make him look like more than a rookie this year. I'd expect struggles, especially early. Not so much mental errors. Taylor was well coached in college and was pretty assignment sound in college (if a bit too conservative), but learning to play press coverage is an art and the pattern matching zones NFL teams play take time to master.
