Jamar Taylor was ready to quit?

Then what was the point in saying it?

What is the point of saying anything in life. Whats the point fo saying he felt like quitting and that god and some other beings made him regain his will to do something.
People in life have had much worse situations and overcame them. At the end of the day maybe he shouldn't be playing football. I hope Taylor turns into a fine player for us
, glad he has his confidence back but seems like he has a real fragile confidence.

Based on these comments it sounds like he didn't lose his confidence but was suffering from depression.
“It was to the point last year I thought I was done playing football,” Taylor told the Statesman. “I didn’t want to play anymore. I was out of it. Thank God for my girlfriend, my family, my pastors and God — because I made it through and kept working. I’m really looking forward to this year. I’m going to turn a lot of heads.”

Taylor knows he has talent which made it tougher to ride the bench.

“Coming back, not being myself, being slower, not as quick, not as agile — watching on Sunday, knowing you want to play, knowing you’re better than some guys and there’s nothing you can do about it,” he said.

You wonder why? People just fall out of love with the game. The injuries sometimes can be too much. I sacrificd my body.throughout high school and I'm still having complications, I'm only 25! My knee is messed up...my memory is getting worse from all the head injuries that.accumulated..I can see why people lose the passion to play anymore..

I've seen it with a friend of mine who tore his ACL playing basketball. This guy was super bummed-out for the longest time. But hey, you come back and find your strength again. I like that Jamar was honest about revealing those kinds of emotions and thoughts. Better than Jonathan Martin who probably wouldn't make a peep.

I swear sometimes i feel some of the NFL Cheerleaders are mentally tougher then some of these guys out there.
Chubbs

If you've never had thoughts of quitting in the face of constant adversity, than you've probably never done anything all that difficult or challenging.

Agree. How many players in the NFL do you think have gone through the same thing without saying anything? I'm betting that it's a whole lot of them. They have been hit and beat up since Pop Warner, and have a very short shelf life to play in the NFL. When you go through injuries you have to start to question yourself as to your future and your family.

You see guys who are having trouble remembering anything, and others who have trouble in walking, etc. That has to have an effect n anyone. Yet, Taylor chose to come back to the game he loves, and should be commended for it, not criticized.

Yeah thank god for his girl friend and mother. They probably told him he was a dumb ass for jeopardizing his $1 Million dollar signing bonus. If he quit I believe Miami could ask for for most of it back.

Needs to get his **** together and contribute more than 3 tackles this year.
