Jason Cole: Set up to FAIL

ALso the more I read I think people read too much into the team player line that was said.

What do we know for sure? Jeff Ireland had a falling out with Dawn Aponte and Joe Philbin; the people 2 people he was expected to work closely with. It's also widely known that Jeff Ireland is not well liked around the league by people in the league or players... and reportedly when BullyGate was going on staff members were willing to throw him under the bus.

The more I think about it, the more I think that line was a shot at Jeff Ireland.

Stopped reading at this post. Im astounded as well. Nothing more to read nor needs saying.

Whose in charge of our publicity? That braintrust needs to be canned immediately so we can bring in some House of Lies type consulting asap.

True or not, does it matter? Message perceived is message achieved. With all of this out there, the perception becomes the reality. Cursed, i tell you. Im starting to feel sorry for our beloved team much more than i feel frustrated with them.

People believe what they want to believe. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Personally I feel that Ross's statement cleared up a lot of issues. Now the fact that he even had to clear that up isn't exactly comforting, but it clears things up none the less.

It blows my mind how this team consistently gets a bad rap.

It doesn't matter what the issue is. It's turns into full blown drama regardless.

I called this BS on another thread. What candidate wouldn't want a job that gave a promotion, more money, and power over one a professional football team in the NFL.

If the stories are true that seems to be far from the truth. She seems very capable of getting involved in situations she has no business being in. What went on between Ireland and Philbin should have stayed between the two of them and the owner. She apparently was more than willing to run to daddy to tell on Ireland.

Well if you believe the stuff written, Ireland tried to get Aponte fired long before Philbin got here so there was no love lost there.

If she is like the stories paint her, I don't blame him.

Firedland Phailed forward fast messing with Aponte

Yeah, not sure why anyone would be scared of Aponte. It seems to me, she'll only get involved, when it comes to the cap. The new GM will suggest players he wants, and let Aponte figure out if we can afford them. That's it. It's not like the new GM will have to go to Aponte and see if she thinks the players are a good fit. People are just blowing things way out of proportion. GM's can come in and work with an existing Head Coach. It's happened before, and Philbin is a new HC in the big scheme of things, I don't think Philbin is so stuck in his ways, that he won't listen the the GM.

you think its that easy huh? She is the Billionare's right hand man. She is his eyes. When he is away, he looks to her to keep an eye on things. An accountant of her capability has the ability to be a CFO of any friggin corporation in America. She is awesome at what she does.

And she also seeks power because of that.

So weve been told all this time Ireland was the one overspending, underspending.....yadda yadda yadda......Who is in charge of Contracts? She is.

So when a new GM comes in to deal with his "roster", he will overstep his bounds one day when he makes a suggestion about some FA on his contract negotiations........ooops! you just stepped outside your bounds mister! You better just shut your trap and listen up mr. lightweight GM, and keep this spending to me got it?

Mr. Lightweight walks away with a newfound look on life and his job. It happens every day. Thats when you find out how your structure is. Aponte is Mr. Billionaires eyeballs. got it? there is your structure.

oh im so sorry, right hand lady.

Can you believe this ****?!

Jason Cole ‏@JasonPhilCole 2m Multiple NFL sources said today they would not advise anyone close to them to take #Dolphins GM job bec power structure is set up to fail

That's a loser's mentality. We need someone who is going to say to those sources, "I don't care how it's set up. I'm going to turn it into something great."

And let me tell ya'll something.

My buddy comes over for games right? He says to me one game that he read a blog or something that said when it came to contract negotiations, Aponte was bad cop, Ireland good cop.

I didnt think too much of it then. Now it becomes a little clearer.

Ireland would have to wipe someone's ass coming out of the room because they felt like small men when leaving Dawn's office.

Maybe Starks was giving her the finger? I dont know.

I hate the media, they are leaches. But sometimes something gets out, and there is no denying when multiple people start chiming in and know something that they can feel confident in to write what they write.

lets face it, The NFL is big money biz. And with that comes power. And with that comes politics.

Very true on the bolded.

The problem with these situations is that now its all magazine gossip news from here. Think about it, with all of this controversy and conspiracy in the air- maybe Ross had to come out and make that statement. Its more than likely a fabrication to soothe the situation.

See what i did there? Its unfathomably ridiculous.

Look, one of her key responsibilities is negotiating with the player agents and she is a tough negotiator. That means not saying yes to the ridiculous demands for more money, it means negotiating. She is simply doing her job. It's not real hard to comprehend.

We're on the same page, bud. I just made that point in another thread before you posted this one. Theres only 32 of these positions available and not even that many if you add the Cowboys.

And who hasnt survived any possible future calamity the media can conjur. Lets see; Spielman, Cameron, Sporano are they not still working in the NFL?

I want to think of a better word other than ridiculous because, at this point, im just redundant. But there really isnt a beter word for it.
