Jason Cole: Set up to FAIL

How is it that the negative coverage and attitude towards this team actually increased after Ireland was fired? Unreal

Because someone spilled the goods unfortunately.

I can't wait for fans that think all is fine and candidates start turning us down that it will be the candidates that are at fault and they don't know what they are missing.

I love how "true" fans back Ross, Aponte and Joe and think things are fine because Ireland is fired.

Aponte is a huge part of the problem, even if she's good with the cap. Philbin is a good football mind, and might be a decent coach, but if he's part of some kind of power struggle (or being used in one), he's unlikely to be successful. I think you start fresh if you're going to start fresh.

yet Darlington (whom I trust more) states this is a coveted position....hmm

Lets not forget that he too noted that it would be a hard sell with the current structure...

This is a narrative issue and it is getting a life of its own.

I really dont see how having Philbin is making the Dolphins GM search unique.
It looks to me that the Bucs are doing the EXACT same thing.

Of course not a peep about the Bucs but the Dolphins are a dysfunctional mess.

Ireland aired the dirty laundry to his buddy Mando and the story has a life of its own now.

Ross has a huge perception problem in league circles - with good reason. Until he somehow manages to change that perception or sells the team, the Dolphins will continue to be the media's favorite piñata.

You have to be optimistic right now, because if Ross ****s this up, the only end in sight is new ownership.

Neato. There's also this:

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 50m
So not only is Ross declining to say if new GM will have final say,but Fritz Pollard Alliance chairman told National Football Post that...

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 50m
...he spoke to NFL about Fins' plan and "I didn't quite understand what they were saying about how everything is going to work."

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 47m
... And Dolphins already said they want team player as GM, suggesting this might not be simple, straight-forward power structure. We'll see.

I remember once I waited like four years to get a new phone and then three days after I got it I took in into the ocean by mistake. Ross does that kind of ****... only with everything. Its like he thinks you're supposed to wipe your ass and then eat the **** stained toilet paper.

That's embarrassing.

I honestly think there is the perception of dysfunction.

Media pundits aside, I don't think ther National football Post care about trolling the Dolphins around.

It does say something about the need to go forward in a clear and comprehensive manner.

Secrecy is great and all, but really? What's the point? Who are we competing against here? Tampa? Cmon!

Word was Ross was to speak soon. I hope he does to clarify.

Or perhaps he shouldn't cuz he always comes across as a dolt.

Hello...Lovie was jut hired. Fresh deal. Joe is a lame duck. Come on you are better.

I can wait, as I really hope we are wrong about what we have been beating the drum about the last two days. However, more keeps coming out and the spin matser's are having to rethink what they have been saying about all is good. I really want to eat crow and say my worries were wrong, but I don't think I am going to have to and that really farking sucks because it means our beloved Fins are doomed as long as this crap keeps going on. Ross needs to just sell this team at this point...

I'd like to know more about the "power structure" the media keeps saying is a hindrance to hiring a new GM. If they know it's such an issue then why don't they just tell us so we can decide for ourselves?

The Fins(and truly Ross) really need to get out in front of the issue and clarify how they want to do things in some sort of public statement.

Many "TWITS" on twitter. Can't put any stock in what Cole or Mando says. There agenda is clear. I'd say not to post this crap but the board is kind of quiet and it's good for a laugh. I think we are interviewing many fine candidates and will choose wisely. Both GM and OC. Let the haters hate, who cares. As long as us finfans laugh last!
