Jason Cole: Set up to FAIL

It still is a sitting coach
Your big narrative is clean house
The Bucs house isn't clean there is a coach sitting there.

The lifecycle of a coach is much shorter than a GM.

Lame duck is meaningless because Philbin goes next year and GM picks a new guy. Lame duck, if anything should improve the chances.

YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

But know you are like a broken record now.
No matter what the story everything in your mind is twisted somehow to attack Philbin.

So shortsighted. It is not just that Joe is a lame duck. The power structure will scare good candidates from wanting this job.

Want to bet there is a better chance that Gamble takes this gig if Ross fired Joe and allowed Gamble to start anew with sole power
over the roster or Ross keeping Joe and keeping Aponte around? What is your guess?

I love how "true" fans back Ross, Aponte and Joe and think things are fine because Ireland is fired.

I assume by "true fans", you are again talking about fans on this site who have a different opinion than you do.

I think you might want to slow down, lets have this thing play out. I saw where Josh McDaniels withdrew his name from consideration for the Brown HC job, and early reports were that he didn't want to get involved in that organization. 12 hours later, it has come out he wasn't #1 on their list and that is why he withdrew. There is a lot of posturing going on and there is no telling where this will end up.

That's going to eliminate most of the people in America who aren't fed through a tube.
I disagree. There are plenty of personnel people who will want to come in and work with our staff.

Ross concerns me. I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss how our franchise is viewed because of this guy. My opinion of him has done a 180 after hearing about how the ppl under him were functioning at a high school level right under his nose. If I had someone like Aponte coming to me and basically snitching to me all the time my personal opinion of that person would be degraded significantly. The thing is, if Ross asked her to play the snitch then we have larger issues than we can ever imagine.

The only comforting thought I have is that the NFL is populated with a lot of bad and weird owners. If you are looking to be a GM or a HC dealing with the odd NFL owner seems to be par for the course.

About time you came around on Ross...

What exactly do you want him to do? You want him to come out say "oh well lets just can everybody and i will get out of the way?"
I don't think he is in the way be any means he is setting up his team the way he see fits.

Yes! Hire a the people that know football and let them run the team. GTFO of the way.

Since you apparently have an inside source of the dolphins power structure. Please explain it to us.

Gamble isn't coming to Miami and that has nothing to do with our power structure.

Nope. I mean people dumping on me that I am a bad fan because I think this FO sucks and make my opinion known.

Finally someone with some sense.

I can't remember who pointed it out on twitter, but someone said that the ability to talk Ross into backing your position is an attractive aspect of the job. They used the example of how Ireland was able to convince Ross to keep him on originally. Then how Philbin and Apatone were able to get Ross to take power away from Ireland and leading to him resigning. In other words, sweet talk the boss just right, and you get the power.

Considering that according to reliable source Barry Jackson that the Fritz Pollard association can't explain what the structure looks like perhaps that is worse.

Fine. I will play that game...Gamble does not come for other reasons. A Ross, a Farmer...rising stars...will not come because of Ross' insistence of keeping Joe and Aponte.

Can you explain the hard push to get Joe and Dawn out, that it was not even worth mentioning when Ireland was here? I didn't see one thread talk about firing Ireland, Dawn, and Joe...not one. there may have been a clean house thread made, but it wasn't very popular. It was all Fireland. Now that he's gone, just seems like searching for something else to b!tch about.

I'm sorry, but after everything we've been conditioned to expect as Phin fans, this seems like the typical arse-backwards way they do things and that never ends well for us.

The best solution IMO is to just hire Gaine, and if/when it fails after next year, everyone goes and then do things the right way, no more half-measures.
