Jason Cole: Set up to FAIL

We don't need a GM and personnel guy in the same cloth. It's better that Aponte is the GM cause she is also the contracts person and should be in charge of hiring and firing the Director of personnel and the coach. That is a more stable structure. Phins really only need Director of Personnel.

Hayden with all do respect.
The only bits of information than any of us get are crumbs.
We get maybe 1% of the picture.
This whole narrative started after Mando wrote a piece that for any intelligent person resembled propaganda not reality.

Lets see the process work itself out.
Perhaps the Dolphins are asking for certain restrictions or failsafes and that may turn off some candidates.

Perhaps those candidates will then leak this "power structure" nonsense to pressure the fins in releasing those failsafes.
This is all a game and you are following it like a lemming

My thoughts exactly.

Aponte doesn't know anything about personnel. I'm not even sure she knows anything about football.

Yeah, not sure why anyone would be scared of Aponte. It seems to me, she'll only get involved, when it comes to the cap. The new GM will suggest players he wants, and let Aponte figure out if we can afford them. That's it. It's not like the new GM will have to go to Aponte and see if she thinks the players are a good fit. People are just blowing things way out of proportion. GM's can come in and work with an existing Head Coach. It's happened before, and Philbin is a new HC in the big scheme of things, I don't think Philbin is so stuck in his ways, that he won't listen the the GM.

I just don't understand how she became so much apart of the conversation. From capologist to concubine. Geez.

But seriously, I think the veil of silence surrounding Davie is allowing hacks like Armando to make assumptions or blur the lines of reality.

It does make you wonder what is motivating this slant. Or if the local writers collude and decide that these guys will take this angle, the others will take the opposite, throw stuff out there until something blows up. It's crazy that it never ends.

With all of the "sources" that leak information, you'd think there'd be no-one left working in Davie.

Our "power structure" is set up the same way as most NFL teams. So Jason Cole is saying the most GM candidates wouldn't want to be GMs for most teams? Seriously, some of the best teams have a GM that reports to the owner, and the HC has final say on his roster.

typical media, don't they have better things to do like search the Pats practice squad for the next Jerry Rice?

Neato. There's also this:

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 50m
So not only is Ross declining to say if new GM will have final say,but Fritz Pollard Alliance chairman told National Football Post that...

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 50m
...he spoke to NFL about Fins' plan and "I didn't quite understand what they were saying about how everything is going to work."

Barry Jackson ‏@flasportsbuzz 47m
... And Dolphins already said they want team player as GM, suggesting this might not be simple, straight-forward power structure. We'll see.

I remember once I waited like four years to get a new phone and then three days after I got it I took in into the ocean by mistake. Ross does that kind of ****... only with everything. Its like he thinks you're supposed to wipe your ass and then eat the **** stained toilet paper.

Smells to me like they have a czar in mind but aren't allowed/or don't want to mention it at this time. Mangini as czar rumors may be true.

She knows money and power. I would imagine there is a pretty good difference in salary if she was in charge.

The "team player" aspect of Jacksons report bothers me. Whats the point of a GM if he is going to be a "yes" man?

Have they interviewed anybody yet to have this bull**** thread.

No reason to believe one thing or the other. Soon we'll know who we hired and I'm sure we'll get the usual "this is the guy we wanted all along" and then we'll see what kind of job he does.No reason to go crazy over it at this point.

Ozzy rules!!

I may have to resist the urge to not come to FH for a few days. All these "sky is falling" threads are giving me heartburn....

A team player is someone the current structure trusts to be of help in attaining the goals of the plan that is in place. That does not mean a yes man.

Or it could be someone who never goes against the grain.
