anybody see this the other day? forgot to bring it up. pretty telling tho. taylor was asked who the best coach hes played for is.

jason didnt want to answer, but when pressed said jimmy johnson was the best, but that nick saban was 1b and rex ryan was 1c.

what does that say considering the guy he plays for now? and considering not only does sparano not get mentioned, but rex ryan? a current division rival is mentioned? thats tough

this franchise picks head coaches like we pick quarterbacks. passed on mike tomlin for cam cameron because one of the operations guys at the time thought tomlin was too "street"? i think was the term used?

and then we passed on rex for sparano.

these are as bad as passing on aaron rodgers, drew brees, and probably next ryan mallett

Of course Jimmy Johnson drafted him and was his first coach, so there might have been some of that young, wide-eyed admiration for Johnson that wasn't there for other coaches later in Taylor's career.

Well those three have accomplished more than tony so its understandable.

I think the most telling thing is that all 3 coaches he mentioned were defensive minded coaches. I think he has a fondness for Satan because he turned JT into an OLB and made him more productive. JT had his most productive year under Satan.

How can anyone even say Rex Ryan is not a good coach. Even before the Jets he put together one of the best defenses in the NFL. As someone said, Tony has not accomplished that yet. I have no clue why they took Taylor back but the guy was being honest, I see no knock on Sparano at all.

of course. or perhaps maybe its possible jimmy was the best coach he ever played for??? guess that so hard for so much of us to get cause we for some reason are as blind about jimmy as we are about ginn.

i think we forgot how much top level talent jimmy brought to miami and how outstanding that defense was. the guy got burnt out. he hasnt come back to coaching so its pretty clear he was done. he did some really good work before he left. and if wandstedt could have even draft one or 2 players that were capable of playing in the NFL we might have been in the super bowl. i think we forgot how awful dave wandstedt was, and that he wasted everything that was left for him here by jimmy. johnson built a dynasty in miami. then did it in dallas. was on his way here too. unfortunately couldnt finish the job. but johnson was special. his record shows that. and he did it himself. the guy had an eye for talent

Really? What the **** did Saban do in Miami? Tony has Saban beat as far as an NFL career goes...

no he doesnt. sabans doctors gave him bad info on brees. and they made a bad choice at qb. he took off, but prior to leaving he met with huizenga and told him he would stay and honor his commitment. wayne told him to follow his heart. he didnt get it done, but do u honestly think saban at the end of the day given the same team and the same time wouldnt do more with it than sparano? its not even close

Wasn't Jason DPY under Sabin ?

Your right but all I remember from Jimmy is Jax 62 - Fins 14 or something like that.

Sparano did more with less in 2008. Saban had a better squad in 2005, but didnt make playoffs.

with gus frerotte at quarterback? seriously? sparano didnt do more with less. just look at the last 2 years as proof. saban didnt do a great job by any means. his work was incomplete, and clearly his drafts were poor. he did try to trade up for haloti nagata, but didnt get it done. if u look at the draft with ronnie brown - nothing but busts in the first round. and he got a nice player. but he missed on aaron rodgers when he was projected to goto us. which is as bad as wandstedt passing on drew bress for jamar fletcher when we already had terrell buckley, sam madison, and patrick surtain (hey at least the dude knew u need more than 2 dbs to win - u listening ireland?) and worse than passing on matt ryan for long certainly - although not by a ton.

saban didnt get it done. with a good personal guy he could have tho. the same cant be said for sparano.
