Jeff Darlington: No plan to reunite Sparano and Gurode

lol, signing a center is going to make or break our season.

Please stop overreacting.

I'm not happy with this offensive line either but this is not a "game-changer". Chad Henne getting killed after Carey and Colombo whiffed on their blocks would be.
Yes, because it completely revamps the entire right side of the line. Thats how much of an effect one player can have on a team.

The guy was cut for a reason, he wouldn't be cut if the Cowboys still thought of him as a high caliber player. We need to revamp the right side of our line, I completely agree, but lets see who else will get cut.

How can Sparano and Ireland watch the same crappy line play we have been watching and not feel compelled to do anything about it when there is an upgrade staring them right in the face?!?!?! I can understand Sparano not seeing it, but I gotta think Ireland is waching that o-line thinking we are in trouble there. PLEASE DO SOMETHING....This team is not that far off and some upgrades on the o-line would be huge!!!!!

Totally agree. Why not get your plan b working just in case you actually have to go to it? Take a flyer on the two of the six experienced out of work linemen (Shaun O'Hara, Brian Waters, Leonard Davis, Andrew Gurode, Max Starks or Langston Walker). Get them in here so they can learn the offense before the season starts and possibly oust Carey and Colombo. This is just the type of planning all good teams do. We're likely going to need depth anyway. With Carey and Colombo as reserves I'd feel a lot better about our chances.

What if Colombo allows a sack and Henne's knee is wrecked? That would break our season.

SMFH!!!! We must sign this guy..theres no reason why we wouldnt sign him.. i hope this moron is wrong.

But we dont have anyone that can play RG?

look, its preseason and tampa wanted it more. carey just ate some wings before the game. he crapped his pants on one play in a preseason game. Tampa was bringin it. Henne went 10-13. In reg season, we will adjust. until then, its just presason. I think everyone needs to step back from the 3 play breakdown.

Not so fast, Marshall Hall of Fame Faulk let a sack go in preseason and Trent Green knee was wrecked, then came along Kurt Gun Slinger Warner who would be our Matt Moore... LMAO, ok that was just a joke, but you never know.. LOL

This front office just doesn't seem like it has the stones to make a real decision.... going into the regular season with Carey and Colombo would be suicide.. especially with a QB who is just beginning to show his ability to go through progressions and audible at the line.

If we give him 3 seconds to get rid of the ball on every play due to a rusher off the edge, I can see a situation where he is done confidence wise or is seriously injured because of this shoddy O Line. We need help over there... doesn't need to be a pro bowler just a solid stop gap to allow Henne to use our weapons.

1. Who says Gurode wants to move to Miami? Has anybody actually considered that?
2. Maybe we want him and can't afford his demands under our latest salary cap calculations. The FO know who they're going to cut and what the budget is. We don't. They know their plans with Soliai's franchise tag. We don't.
3. Gurode is not a guard. Gurode is not a tackle. If we sign him, we move a first round rookie, who has had precious little prep time as it is, to a new position. All the playbook work has to be re-absorbed by Pouncey, all the moves relearned. Gurode himself will have to pick up the playbook. We play the most important game of the season in under two weeks against the Pats.
4. Sparano has tinkered a lot with this line. His latest tinker, moving Carey to guard, is best described as a work-in-progress. I'm guessing he's reluctant to tinker more and would only consider signing a guard or tackle.

None of the above means signing Gurode is or isn't a good idea. But there are a lot of reasons why Darlington is saying it's probably unlikely than "This FO SUCKS!".

See, I told you guys!!! We are at fault here....all the ragging on the FO for signing all these cowboys, and finally when there is one we really need, they dont want to look bad anymore lol!!!

My god we have to get someone good soon..............our line is bad.
