Jeff Darlington on the GM / OC search

I disagree.
Nothing about the GM process is suggesting that we are not desired or the situation is flawed.
It looks like we have gotten the top rising talent out there to come in and interview.

Agreed, the GM search seems to be going well. A lot of quality candidates to choose from with hardly any competition from other teams. I would be shocked if the Dolphins didn't hire one of these quality candidates they have brought in.

As for the OC search, you can make of it what you want I guess. We don't have all the facts, so it is hard to grasp what is going on behind the scenes. McAdoo might have turned the Dolphins down, or perhaps Philbin decided it wasn't a fit. All speculation. Let's wait until we see who gets the job before thinking there is a bad situation or that people don't want to come here. A lot of the negativity about the behind of scenes has been pushed by the high-five boys, and it spread from there, so we need to take everything with a grain of salt.

Totally Agree.
I think he interviewed with Miami out of deference to Philbin and there is the decision point.
Either we weren't able to offer him on the spot or... we did and he said no. Impossible to say.

BTW what is the "high five boys" thing. I see it tossed around.

I say give Kubiac whatever it takes and let's at least get the offense heading in the right direction even if he bails after one solid year.

As far as GM i guess Farmer would be fine .

Who do you guys like ?

A few years ago after a loss (I believe it was the 2002 loss to the Pats in the season finale), Armando and Jason Cole high-fived in the press box in front of all the other writers. I believe the reason why was because they thought it meant Wannschmuck would be fired. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Back during the 2003 season, Armando and Jason Cole were seen high-fiving when the Dolphins got eliminated from playoff contention. He was confronted and was caught in a lie when he tried to make an excuse. Check out the gold here:

Armando just this year went on a rant about a Vietnam vet. The dude is classless and is a proven liar.

A challenger arises for my vote. Bump you gonna have to step it up fishfanmiami's is speaking to me.

Really depends on if you're primarily a "T" or "A" man. Then again, mine has a nice smile too.

:bumpus:

Thanks to both of you for the response.

That email exchange is unreal. What a petulant loser Salguero is(so defensive over what was a fairly fair and neutral letter by Mike D IMO). Nothing that he writes has any credibility with me anymore and it puts all his commentary in perspective.

I guess my challenge as "I don't give a ****" campaign isn't going well. lol

Seems to be working well Boss. Last I checked it was neck and neck even with no effort :idk:

Me and Bump went at it in March Madness so we are just continuing that battle :)

I voted for me when Nublar sent the notification, and haven't checked it since.

You've probably got enough badges anyways Boss. The real life kind

Darlington had to get something out there quick. That was a given. He's mocked the notion that it's not an attractive situation in Miami. So when the appearance is that candidates are choosing to go elsewhere, whether it's coordinator or general manager, Darlington knows that it makes his prior assertions look bad. He had to deflect and rationalize, and soon, before the end of the day's news cycle.

much like finheaven. You think Ireland is sad? I dont. I think he is smiling from ear to ear.

A Baltimore-area restaurant tweeted out that they hosted Kubiak last night.

Not good.

The GM search doesn't bug me at all. We got 2 names that weren't interested in leaving their teams.

OC? Honestly we have no idea what the hell is going on there. So I can't comment
