AP Jeff Fisher has made a few things clear since his parting with the Titans early this year.
He felt like he needed a break, but it doesn’t sound like he intends that break to last too long.
“I’m making the most of my time,” Fisher told Vic Carucci on Cleveland Browns Daily Wednesday. “I’m a dad again, my youngest is playing at Auburn, I’m watching Auburn football and taking some time off, but still paying close attention to what’s going on in the league and look forward to a potential opportunity in the future.”
Fisher has been paying particularly close attention to some of the recent rule changes because he remains a non-voting consultant to the Competition Committee.
That continued role is a sign that Fisher will likely be a full member of the Competition Committee again when he returns to coaching.
Judging by Fisher’s public comments, it doesn’t sound like he intends to make his break from football last as long as Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden

I am on the anyone but these current idiots wagon. I just laugh thinking about how many times I saw people trying to smooth over da boll **** hiring. Enough is enough and it's time for a change!

Jeff Fisher's teams are always mentally tough. Needed around here.

Or someone could just answer the question. Why Fisher over Cowher and Gruden?

For one, he's on the freaking competition comitee. That's a huge advantage.

But he's also a much better coach. Head coaches don't have to be genious X and Os guys; they have to bee great managers. And Fisher is just that. His teams always played tough, and managed to be competitive even in lean years.

Gruden means an extremely complex offense, plus a veteran QB. Forget about Luck - he would be salivating over Hasselbeck. Plus what did he do without Dungy's defense?

And Cowher - his teams did always play tough. But I feel his succeses have more to do with Lebeau than him.

Thanks for answering me. I would't mind either one of these guys. They are all upgrades over Sparano.

I'm cool with Gruden, Fisher, or Cowher. I just want a guy who has proven he can win in this league as a head coach. All of those guys have proven that to me.

Ive always liked the idea of finding "our guy" and not trying to resurect somone elses. I dont know anything about fisher but if you guys think he is a great prospect then I'm open to the possibility.

DOn't get why everyone thinks he's so great. 6 winning seasons in 15. Went to one superbowl and lost and has lost alot of early playoff games. and when they didn't ahve a winning receord they sucked. I mean look at his first 4 years as coach? Tony did better than him. Will Tony's 5th year turn into 13-3. No and I think Tony will be gone and most likely should be along with Ireland but I don't think Fisher is my guy.

Lebeau was put in place by Cowher, great leaders know to hire people smarter than themselves so they all succeed.
