Jeff Ireand Fans

Question for you Ireland fans, how can you keep backing somebody that cant put a winning team on the field year after year? How many chances does he get? Everybody needs to quit drinking the JEFF IRELAND and STEVEN ROSS Kool aid. Nothing personal but JEFF IRELAND cant do the job. This will be my last year as a 43 year Miami dolphin fan I have witnessed the highs and the lows and enough is enough unless major changes are made I must support another team. This team has sunk so low that the refs dont even respect us as a viable football team, we have become a joke in the NFL and this organization does not deserve this. So if you fans of the last few years don't agree then keep drinking the Kool AID and your team could be moved to another state when the seats are empty in a once proud football town. It is pretty obvious that MR ROSS cant or wont change things so the only answer is to sell this shell of a team and give it back to the once proud Miami dolphin fans with a new owner.

Well, we've been absolutely screwed by officiating in consecutive games. And I think Sherman has been atrocious as a playcaller.

54 just doesn't understand why we blame Ireland for putting guys on the field who can't block a Pee Wee Football team. But he used to defend Tony Sparano too. Some people are clueless and always will be.

Funny how through the first three weeks, i didnt have to sift through threads like this, than again some of you posters, didnt even show up and bother posting during those first three weeks.....

Im pretty sure Ireland is all out of fans at this point.

Trolls gonna troll.

Does that change the fact that for yet another year Ireland still hasn't improved this team? And I'll remind you THAT'S HIS ONLY JOB. So for a 5th year now, Ireland hasn't accomplished the only thing he was hired to do.

I've been weary of Ireland for years but was willing to see what he did this offseason before making my final decision on him. Many posters, myself included, viewed this offseason as one that could set us up to be a solid football team for years to come. We had the $$$ and draft picks to do whatever we wanted. Some of our more pessimistic posters feared having Ireland handle that $$$ and draft picks was a risk, what if he screwed that up. I honestly didn't think he could, lol. I figured with open pockets and many draft picks the 2013 Dolphins would be a much improved football team and Jeff Ireland's legacy would be born. I figured by the middle end of this season we would all love him.

After all, you have to give him a little credit for having us in a situation where we had plenty of $$$ and draft picks to upgrade the team, don't you? As the offseason unfolded I felt every move was calculated by these guys as they were building their team. Many rival fans gave me the impression that Miami was just wildly spending money with no rhyme or reason. I never believed this, I listened to Philbin explain the Wallace signing and his 3 tier passing game and how Wheeler and Ellerbee were great blizters. What's funny is I remember sitting with my friends at lunch talking about how absurd I thought Finheaven posters were in saying Dansby and Burnett needed to be replaced (there were threads before the offseason) just thought there were bigger fish to fry. However of course I bought the LB upgrade as well.

I loved the draft too, while people were telling me Lane Johnson should have been the pick I was thinking how much better having an impact player like Dion Jordan would be. I figured Jamar Taylor, Dallas Thomas and Will Davis would contribute or at the very least compete for playing time.

The line always concerned me though, I really wanted to resign Jake Long only because I had a feeling the bigger stronger John Martin was a farce (which it is). When that fell through I thought trading for Albert was a no brainer. Had we traded for Albert we could have fixed LT and still had the 12th overall pick to get another contributor. I saw this as a win, win. I really did not want to spend a high draft pick on a tackle like the consensus on here.

The point here I was wrong about a ton of things. It looks like Ireland may have screwed this up after all. It looks like the team may have been thrown together without rhyme or reason. You could even argue we may be better right now had we just kept some of the guys we let go and signed or drafted a WR or 2, not necessarily Mike Wallace. The offensive line being neglected with the kind of money the team had to work with this offseason in inexcusable. Ireland had chances to fix it but he was too cheap. He could have traded a draft pick, he probably would have screwed up anyway, for Brandon Albert. He even could have just signed McKinnie in July. Instead we get the bigger stronger John Martin (lol) and washed up Tyson Clabo. I believed in Clabo too, those PFF numbers and the reasoning that Atlanta was only getting rid of him in preperation to pay Matt Ryan sold me, wrong again.

Then there's Tannehill. I thought he would break out, wrong again. Basically Ireland had an oppurtunity to fill a ton of needs but has left us with many instead. In fact we really aren't in much better shape then we were last year. That is sad, I see 6-10 (TB, 1 win over the Jets and in Buff I hope) a new GM, coach and 1 more year for Tannehill in our future. Ireland royally screwed this offseason up and if 6-10 holds true you'd think this is his last GM gig.

Jeff Ireland doesn't throw the interceptions, drop the passes, fumble the ball, etc. Most everyone here praised the Tannehill draft pick, praised the Wallace pickup. Most everyone was commenting on how Tannehill had time to throw the ball last week because of the trade, etc. Most everyone has approved of most moves he's made, but when the players don't perform, they blame him. Makes perfect sense.

Just give Ireand a life time service contract. Some people want to praise him for any thing but at no point give him any blame.
The Gm is accountable , the coaches accountable , the players accountable.
The Oline is crap, isnt that what the GM has been building for 5 friggin years so if nothing else blame must fall some on him.
We are having to trade for players that teams had to replace to replace guys that are not getting the job done.
Only on finheaven is six sacks given up a good job by the oline

I don't hate the man nor I do't like him so much. He is trying real hard I can see it. He brings us Grimes, Wallace, Clabo , and Gibson. Drafting players like POuncey , Tannehill, Vernon, Jones, Jordan etc. I am not delusional like most fans that want a GM to hit on all picks. It is easy to say"we should of drafted this guy over that". We should of drafted Brady in the 5th round. Instead letting the pats get him in the 7th.

If "most everyone" = "typical homers that praise everything the dolphins do no matter what" then this post is accurate. Most everyone should know that free agent wide receivers work out about as often as ones taken in the draft, if they didn't before they should now.

Well as long as he is trying hard, lets hand him a 5 year extension. That way he can be general manager for a full decade while also being the GM for only a single offseason(the other 9 are Parcells after all).

Most of us just havent come to accept losing and find busting on second and third round picks to be fine. I mean, good for you for hitting that level, probably saving yourself some blood pressure, but the rest of us actually want a winner in Miami. And expect the guy being paid millions of dollars to have a winning season more then once during a Presidency. But again, more power to you for not caring about that.
