Jeff Ireland speaks to the media

Sure think about it.. You just started a new job and your company is going to buy a new machine... You feel strongly towards one, knowing it will save money for the company down the road... but your boss is opposed to it.. what are you going to do? punch him out? go to his boss crying how stupid your boss is... naw.. you're gonna keep your mouth shut and suck it up.... Thats what I think Philbin might have done regarding the Flynn decision

makes me dislike him more...guy has got to go

No you are reaching for something that is not there.

Did you guys really expect Ireland to call the media and say"hey you're right no one wants to play here or coach here?"

Ireland is the problem with this franchise. He never makes a bold move. He is scared to ...out of fear of being wrong. He just settles for whatever comes along "at his price". He just collects his pay checks. That is his bottom line.
ROOSSSSSS!!!.....Wake uuuuuup!!!!!

Did he say anything about why he traded Marshall to the Bears for peanuts?

So we do not have a starting level QB, no 1 or 2 WR, no safety's, no RT....I guess all are coming in the draft.

There's nothing reckless about the contract Flynn signed. It's very mindful of leaving Sea flexibility in the future. So what the **** is he talking about?

bingo...if nothing else today this little protest made ireland feel the need to give us some reasoning for his decisions...but don't try and tell me $10 mil guaranteed for flynn would cripple this franchise...don't even go there

You're grasping at straws Jeep.

I might be... but from everything I have seen and read, I was led to believe Philbin wanted Flynn in Miami.. So I just cant understand how you all are saying Philbin didnt have confidence in Flynn

I'm guessing Jeff Ireland wants to keep his job and have his team be successful.

In the 4 years Ireland has been here he has proven he's not a risk taker...that's good and bad. He has never spent money on a QB. In 2008 we got Pennington cheap, Henne was a 2nd round pick (also relatively cheap) and Josh McCown (cheap), 2009 it was Pennington, Henne and 2nd round pick Pat White (cheap), 2010 it was Pennington, Henne and Thigpen (cheap) and last year we had Henne and Moore (really cheap) with Devlin on the practice squad as an undrafted rookie (super duper cheap).

So either Ireland is scared of making a mistake and overpaying for a QB or drafting one in the first round...or he doesn't put any value in the position. Both are bad.

I will give Ireland credit for coming out and saying something.

For those saying Ireland had too big of an ego, he may have a big one, but it REALLY stretching it to believe he would refuse to give Philbin a guy he really wanted. And as I stated in the draft forum, Michael Lombardi (who has been more accurate than not) stated that people around the league felt Miami was more interested in Ryan Tannehill than Flynn. While Philbin was with Flynn for the last 4 years, his offensive staff as 3 coaches who have been around Tannehill for the same amount of time (okay 2, but 3 that were with him last year), one of whom being Mike Sherman; a guy who Philbin has been very close to for a long time.

Again, you can criticize Ireland for how he handled a few other situations, but Flynn really isn't one of them.

If you could post links to these these things you have seen and read, it would validate your theories.

I have yet to see anywhere that Philbin stated he wanted Flynn as his starter.

the next one of you guys that brings up garrard and pro bowl should be banned...andy dalton was a pro bowler in 2011 and he's average at best...
