Jerome's 3.3 Avg

the bus is one of the best short-yardage guys..but, as an overall RB, not HOF material imo.

I don't think he's HOF material either but he'll probably get in because of his years of playing and the numbers he put up.

Most of his carries were short yardage situations where the defense was stacked up against him, so I do cut him some slack there.

I don't think the pure numbers will get him in, but its his notoriety and style of doing this that will get him in. Also, despite his low average, if I am ever rooting for his opponent I hate to see him in late in the game because he is impossible to get down and is able to move the chains.

Among the league's all-time top 50

Rushes:4
Rushing yards:5
Rushing TDs:8t
Yards from scrimmage:12
Rush/Receive TDs:21t

He was hall of fame bound before a super bowl win.

Man look at how high Edge is in the attempts department already, & he missed most of a year. If he finishes out his career & doesn't retire early like he's said he has a very good chance to break Emmitt's record. & Tomlinson, in another 5 years at that pace he'll be #4 in attempts & yardage.

So it turns out that Jerome has a 3.3 Average. That is terrible. I know that he is a back up but how does he have a 3.3 average for the season and still be considered as an allstar runningback (maybe not by you here but by enough of my peers), and that is rediculous. Jerome is not good, he is old and it is a good thing he is retiring.

He's obviously done, but he was a great player. His importance to the Steelers had more to do w/ leadership than rushing yards.
